Boston Legal Begins Filming Again

	I've begun filming on "Boston Legal"? and I'm having a great experience developing the character of Denny Crane even further than last year.
I try and take cues from the script and then add in my own interpretation of a situation. For example, on one recent episode, Denny is upset he is not getting to chair a case about guns. Circumstances come about, however, which result in him having to do the closing argument. Whereas he was eager at first, he finds himself losing his confidence and then finding it again once in a while. I find myself interpreting a character that is walking the line of being nuts and then not nuts. I don't know what's in store for the rest of the season but that's part of the fun.

The storyline you describe as an example recalls, for me, your moving performance in Denny's closing for the doctor accused of prescribing non-FDA approved medication in "It GIrls & Beyond" [images]. Good for the writers letting Denny revisit wavering and for you injecting your flavor into it, even if DEK is a maniac about sticking to the scripted word. Will Denny come equipped with a rabbit in his back pocket? More importantly, will Denny start inviting Brad out onto the terrace? I do like how your arms are around each other. GLad to see you here as we've missed you here!

And we all are awaiting Denny's return on Boston Legal in the fall. I like the charactor as you don't know which way he is going to go and that's the suspence of it...not knowing what's going to happen! :)

Glad to see you are having fun, and can't wait to see your other work in the fall and other projects that will be coming soon.

Mr. Shatner, I wonder if you'd tell us about Denny Crane's backstory. Before you took the role, did the writers' give you his background, class, family history, military experience, etc. -- or did you create them based on the scripts they gave you. What specifics of Crane's character and early background do you keep in the back of your mind when creating his attitudes, reactions. What about Denny Crane do you think would surprise viewers? Thanks so much!

I am glad Boston Legal is filming again, when it disappeared from the sunday night lineup I thought it had been canceled. I really enjoy the show and like the character that Bill portrays.
I just finished watching the film Mind Meld and enjoyed it tremendously.

Dear Bill, Thank you for continuing on with Boston Legal. I have just see another episode which gave me more great laughs. Never saw Capt Kirk with a cigar stuck in his ear (heavens to betsy no), but Denny Crane and Alan Shaw sitting on the verandah with Cigars in the ear, was a scream!

Yes, I've been watching the developing Denny Crane and noticed some almost bi-polar characteristics. I assume this is because of Denny's fear of the obvious developing Alzheimer’s. Is this intentional or coincidence???
I can't wait to see what's to come!

Bill - you broke me up in "Finding Nimmo" when you responded to Alan Shore's calling the sea lice "cling- ons" by asking him: "Did you say "Klingons"? After the show, I thought of another line the writers could have had you follow that up with by having Denny yell out in front of the Canadian judge: "You Cling-on bastards, you killed my salmon!"

Obviously, I think the Star Trek references are fun - kind of an inside treat for your fans to enjoy. Will there be more of these on upcoming episodes?
