Here it is, folks, what you?ve been waiting for ? the interview questions have finally been answered. FYI, if several people asked the same or similar questions, they were combined into one answer. Also, only one question per person was answered. Sometimes questions were inappropriate or simply didn?t make sense; in those cases, the questions were skipped altogether. All in all, my Dad has done his best to get to as many answers as possible. So read on?

1. Tina asks: Boxers or briefs?
Bill answers: In brief, briefs.
2. Kilgorn asks: What?s the clumsiest thing you have ever done while alone and haven?t mentioned it to anyone?
Bill answers: Once I took a friend?s horse into a pasture to ride. I was alone and urged the horse to go faster. He proceeded to buck me off. I fell with a thud, then got back up and continued on my way. When I finally returned to the stable, I never mentioned anything about the fall. Later that night, however, I looked in the mirror and saw a giant manure stain on my forehead.
3. ColorTelevision asks: Has the craft services changed over the decades?
Bill answers: It has. It?s gotten more caloric and more resistant to resistance and can ruin a whole movie in a week.
4. Jean asks: Have you ever been to Israel?
Bill answers: Yes, I have. It was a wonderful experience and I have to go back.
5. Mkcantrell asks: Have you ever meal REAL deaf people in your life? How do you feel when you approach them?
Bill answers: Can you write louder? I can?t hear you. To be serious, I approach deaf people the same way I approach others.
6. Rpoe asks: When you found out the death scene had to be reshot (In Generations) what did you think, and how did you prepare to do it over?
Bill answers: First, I had a good argument with Rick Berman. Then I had to rearrange my thoughts because I had assumed we were done, especially with that terrible location. It required fortitude. And verisimilitude.
7. ChuckD asks: Have you (or will you ever) perform a song in a straightforward singing style?
Bill answers: Gee, I would love to but I can?t sing. For the latest on this, take a look (or listen) to my new album, ?Has Been.?
8. Captain_R_K asks: In all your travels, what is your favorite place where you have stayed, or the best sight you have seen?
Bill answers: This is tough to answer because there have been many wonderful places I have visited. But how about shooting a scene that had twenty or so small barbeques, each with a thick, juicy steak on it, in an orchard of peaches ripe for the picking? We finished the scene close to lunchtime. It was Southern Ontario at its best.
9. Anneke asks: My favorite Shakespeare play is ?The Merchant of Venice.? Some people think it is anti-Semitic. I?d like to know what a Jewish Shakespearian actor thinks about that issue?
Bill answers: It?s not really anti-Semitic. In the context of Shakespeare?s time, he was being very humane i.e.? Do I not bleed?? But from the point of view of modern history, some people might interpret it as a stereotypical character.
10. Ross asks: What do you think of studios who are un-willing to commit a lot to a film and who are just in it because it will be another money maker?
Bill answers: All studios are interested in making money because they, too, have to answer to investors. But there is a reasonable common ground between artists and financiers that frequently can be reached.
11. TooDamnSweet asks: Have you ever had Hawaiian food? What was your favorite and least favorite?
Bill answers: Yes, poi is my favorite. But I had to eat it with a macadamia nut and he wasn?t too social.
12. SunrunnerPoms asks: When are you going to get out of Dobes and get a real dog? A Pomeranian!
Bill answers: When you get out of Pomeranians and get into Dobes!
13. Gregparadine asks: Did you gain anything from your experience as ?The Captain??

Mr. Shatner: Thanks for taking time to answer the gang's questions! They've been chomping at the bit to hear back for some time now! Unfortunately I joined the BBS after the questions were collected, but very much was thrilled seeing you in concert at the El Rey and being one of the many to cheer you on! I hope to get a DVD of the show if one is released!!

POI?!? =} ...really?? ...my dumbest horse accident was similar to yours, but not as clever: while trail jumping around the perimeter of a horse farm on Maui, the Arab I rode spooked and somehow enroute to the ground I nearly broke my nose on his -knee-... then upon the next galloping stride...landed handily in the stable's manure pile... I think the horse was gloating at that point!

I got a horse story too. Two of them.
First one: I was in charge of two of the mares that day. The one I liked was expecting a pony of her own, and the other one already had hers. We were supposed to take the horses to a back pasture. I get one one (Cocoa) to ride her on the way towards the pasture and pullling on the other's lead from behind. That horse was my favorite. Forgie was her name. Any, we get no further than 10 feet when Forgie stopped for some reason, and pulled me off of Cocoa. I got up and yelled at her. "I can't believe you did that" is what I said. She just flicked her ears at me. You know how horses are when they listen or pretend not to listen. So I had an idea. I'll ride Forgie and pull Cocoa. Halfway at the pasture, I tied the leads together. It worked. But Forgie kept biting at Cocoa. Jealousy I guess.
The other one involves my girlfriend at the time. She was taking care of a red horse. She liked this horse because she was a redhead too. So, we were in the corral. I was watching over a young Appeloosa named Billy. He would not walk with me. Michelle saw this, and took over and left me with Scarlett. Two minutes later, Scarlett bit me on my stomach area. Left a bruise. Michelle got me back for spooking Scarlett earlier that day. I had tried to scratch her head, but I did not know that Scarlett had sensitive skin.
I could go on with my horse stories. Could write a book about that summer in 1978 on Guam. So I'll stop here.

Thanks Lisabeth for recording the questions and answers..really..great fun to read them, even the brief ones ha ha ha. When I fell off my horse it was always on the hardest bit of ground the wretch could find....and then she would just turn her head around and snort! Think she was saying something?
