Winning the Golden Globe was such a thrill for me. To tell you the truth, I really didn?t think it was a possibility that I was going to win. |
| I was really caught by surprise! The whole night was such a wonderful experience. I am just so grateful and thrilled. Elizabeth and I were dazzled by all the glitter and fun at the awards and the after-party. I called my daughters on the way home in the limo and they told me how happy they were for me. By the time I got home, I can honestly say it was one of the most thrilling nights I can remember. |

Congrats Bill, you deserve it.....Denny Crane is such a unique character, i can imagine he is really fun to play. I have always been a Star Trek fan, but I am wild about Boston Legal. i think it is the best show o­n TV right now, and I o­nly started watching it because of you. Looking forward to the development of Candice's character Shirley Schmidt, and to the addition of Betty White's character from the practice. Next to Denny Crane, Alan Shore is the weirdest character !

Congrats Bill! My wife and I were watching last night and we were so happy to see you win and get up on stage to take the award!!! We are big Boston Legal fans too! We love the show and you in it!! :) In fact the only reason we started watching the show was because you were in it and have found it to contain many treasures within; James Spader, Rene Auberjonois, and all the rest.

I have always thought you to be most talented. I have always admired your acting style. Being known for your sci-fi work (Twilight Zone and Star Trek) has probably kept the awards from you, but times have changed, and now you are finally getting the acknowledgement you have deserved all along. I think your acting is still improving, too! And, you have such a wonderful disposition! Congratulations!

Wow, very cool that you won. I wonder what that must feel like. I'm new to the Shatner country, not a huge Star Trek fan, however I heard + bought your album recently and it's very deserving of the accolades it receives. Boston Legal is a really entertaining show, you fit the role well. I can get behind that.

All i can say about william shatner is that he is absolutely the worst music artist of all time. Wait hes not even close to an artist he is a piece of dog shit. The fact that his music is played at all or that he has sold even o­ne record boggles my mind. While the Golden Globe is well deserved Bill,
the writing is turning your character into a bit.
What won you the award was the way Denny
stepped away from the precipice of Alzheimer's
and suddenly became this force to be reckoned
with.
The balancing act is what makes Denny Crane.
Not the odd ball antics. You're letting them turn
this guy into a whack job. If Mr. Kelly would step back, he would recognize that they're taking the easy way out. Their trivializing what should be one of the great television characters of all time.
To your credit, you play it above the way it's written.
All I'm asking, as a fan of yours and a real fan of the show, is that you get them to stop turning you into "Monk. " A character rich with a personal history that explains why he acts the way does.
Sadly, they've turned him into a guy who doesn't want to get anyone's kooties. Oy!
Denny Crane isn't about comic relief. He's about
a guy who can still throw strikes even though he's losing his fastball. What he does to cover the fact that he knows he no longer has full command of his pitches is what won the Golden Globe.
I doubt you'll ever see this, but if you do, I'd like to know what you think about the direction they're taking your character. I'm still a fan, and still look forward to watching the show. I'm just puzzled why they would want to screw up a beautiful thing.

hello bill and congratulations o­n your golden globe win. in my opinion you have deserved this emmy and globe a long time ago. and many more besides. so congratulations o­n something you well deserved. it was your magnetism as a person that actually floated that first star trek. i know i saw the original pilot incorperated into your scripts. that first captain did not have your magnetism as an alpha man, nor i might add your sexual appeal to women. even i felt it at twelve or thirteen. and i didn't know what it was. it was o­nly years later as i watch you o­n the star trek movies and t.j. hooker that i understood what exactly drew me to you. they ought to bottle what you have up and sell it other men. but then it wouldn't be the same. there is, after all, o­nly o­ne william shatner.

Dear Mr. Shatner,
I wanted to find a way to send you a message to say thanks for Has Been. It's a brilliant album: funny, witty, ironic, sad and above all, brutually honest. I'm 42 and my partner is 70. He loved the truth of "You'll Have Time". I don't know which is my favourite but "Common People" is a great protest song and "It Hasn't Happened Yet" resonates with my middle age experiences. "What Have You Done" made me weep for you both. And finally, "Real" is terrific. I've loved all the Star Treks and Gene Rodenberry's idealism. But I always realized this was art, not science, politics or some other societal authority. You are however a terrific actor and I'm proud you're ours - Canadian :-) I'm so glad that you have the attitude you do and that Boston Legal and Has Been are public successes. Enjoy it all!
