Summer is a ?hang loose? time for many people, but mine looks to be busy as ever. I?m was in Toronto recently, doing a series of commercials for Kelloggs, which is a lot of fun and looks like will result in some fairly amusing spots. While I was there I put together a syndicated radio show and tried to get together another show for divers that hunt for sunken treasure. There are other projects in the works, too ? including one at Sci Fi channel, tentatively titled ?Inferno of Hate.? At some point this month, I plan to take a breather, take a swim, barbeque, have a cool lemonade or two. I just can?t figure out exactly when!  |

I know what you mean about having all those "irons in the fire", and not enough time to relax. I have too many projects started, and not enough of them finished!!! However, vacation is coming!!! First Spplat, then household fix ups---joy, on the 2nd part.
Can't believe summer is almost over though!!!

What we need for Spplat Attack is...
Somone to take one of those 50-150 gallon oil drums and cut it in half, put a grate on top and fill with Charcoal...
Than have ourselves a good old fashioned barbq but...
The one thing I cant stand when Im barbqing and waiting for the coals to heat ups is the constant whining.
Im hungry.

I am a busy person too, and I rarely get a chance to hang loose, but that is just what I did today. A dozen of my pals got together with my hubby and me at a local swimming pond and we had a day-long picnic together.
I swam, and swam and swam all day! I like to put on swim fins and just go zooming all over. We played frisbee in the water, too, at one point, and had a hilarious good time.
The food was great. Two things say "Summer" to me: A sizzling charboiled steak on a paper plate, and swimming in a lake. :)
Oh what a tonic. I feel ten years younger. :)
Next week, my husband Bruce and I are going camping for the weekend in Vermont with several of our closest pals. We like to rough it in the bush, now and then. I hope the weather holds. It's been real rainy in CT this Summer. We were lucky to get a bit of sunshine today.

I have so much time this summer I don't know what to do. I'd be glad to start my first year in college now ratherthen in the fall, cause there is just so much gardening, reading, practicing piano, and getting in trouble for not cleaning the house a person can take.

Mr. Shatner,
I'm a big fan of your Star Trek books. I see your writing another book called "Captains Blood" expected out in Dec '03. Does that date still hold true and will you be going on a book signing tour? I live in the midwest and wondered if you would be stopping in OH, IA, IN or KY on that tour.
Thanks,

Mr. Shatner. Please do take some time and relax. We all here understand your need to relax and enjoy life. Surely Elizabeth and Lizabeth could use a break too. I saw your schedule posted here online and I'm sure you have more things going on that you haven't made public. Just looking at your schedule wore me out.
Please take care of yourself, there are many fans and family members I'm sure that want you to be kind to yourself. You deserve a break. Go ahead and take on and have a nice cold Lemonaide on me. If you ever come to Sacramento, I'll bring one to you on a silver platter!

Dear Sir, I did not know how to contact you but I hope this message will find you. I just finished reading your book The Ashes of Eden and was very impressed by how your main character handles his midlife transition throughout the text. As a young psychology professor, I am always trying to find unique ways for my students to see the theories discussed in class utilized outside of the classroom and your novel provides that perfect opportunity. I plan on assigning your novel as a supplementary reading for this Fall and it is a courtesy at our institution to inform authors if faculty has chosen to utilize their works in our courses. Although I have personally enjoyed your screen and TV career, it is indeed a pleasure to be able to include your literary talents in my work. Sincerely, Prof. Nicole Coulter

It sounds like you are having a very busy summer! The older I get, the busier my summers seem to be. I just got back to Winnipeg from working in Chicago for the summer and now I have a week to pack before I move to Montreal! We're in the middle of a heat wave, though so I am determined to make it to the beach at least once this summer :)

Hey Bill, as a long time paraprofessional in the medical field, I can tell you that taking some time to rest is so important, but finding a balance of activity against relaxation is also important. All things in moderation, as they say... As we age, gain a little weight, go thru life changes and challenges, add new and wonderous events, or even take on a few extra financially concerns or contracts the necessity of maintaining your health becomes all that much more important. You are such a wonderful role model to the Star Trek community and we want to keep you with us for as long as possible. I wish continued good health for you. I'm not so sure that ignoring one's age is always the most proper thing to do, but, I do believe that acting the way one feels is important. Stay young at heart Bill !!! Ever yours, Jancy

I'm from Binghamton, NY and attended the mini Star Trek Convention that you guest-appeared at. I was also a fortunate holder of Autograph Signing and Photo Op tickets and was thoroughly thrilled to meet you, sit briefly next to you ("Keep on writing..."), and of course, enjoyed your repartee with the audience and fielding the questions thrown at you (And you did the hard and odd ones with class, Bill). Although not a rabid fan of Star Trek, I am a loyal and regular fan of the genre and have followed it steadily since the original series debuted on TV (and had remembered your character vividly from the original Twilight Zone series episode). It was a real honor and thrill to finally actually meet you. And your casual approach on-stage at the convention was refreshingly real. I think you "hit the moment" with us that day...

Greetings from my RV Van Cap't Will! I know "Been there done that"! Summer is just about over in many places but in the Southwest it hangs on till November sometimes. Spplat attack is like our family tradition of water pistol fights started by my Dad back in the 50's. Summer is the best time and warm winters in the southwest arn't that bad either! I really hope the negotiations for the Panama project are a GO! I can't wait for that adventure to materialize! One question, I've heard on your site that Leonard Nimoy is researching the attributes of God and the Mother/Father characteristics of same. Do you or anyone reading this have any information on this subject? I am a deep student of scripture and am very interested in what Leonard has to say! That's the one side of my adventureus being and the other would like to ship out with the Panama crew! Good fortune to you and your family and crew with all you are doing Cap't;
