Once again it?s Spplat Attack time! o­n Labor Day weekend, in New Milford, PA, all the forces are gathering to make this an even bigger and better event than last year?s success. Of course, I?ll be there to lead my team of enthusiasts into the fray o­nce more in order to win the coveted flag. There will be other celebrities as well, so it?s sure to be a fun, action packed event. There is also going to be a Star Trek Convention in Binghamton, NY the Saturday night before the big Spplat Attack event o­n Sunday. Remember, it?s all for charity! So please join me join me for what promises to be a fantastic time. Maybe I can even be o­n YOUR side! |

Dear Bill.
I have always all my life wanted to see you in person. Many times I watched you at conventions on TV talking about Star Show somthing or other, (Forgot the name.) I will try not to throw myself on you at the paintball game as there will be alot of people there. I have not had a vacation in a long time and I am looking forward to 4 days in Northern Pennsylvania. I have been corresponding with all involved with the paintball game people. Everyone involved is going out of their way to make sure everyone feels welcome at this game. I cant wait to go and I have a secret. That is, Any money I can save on this trip, I will use to buy a ticket to Spplat III. I am confident that we will all have a good time and this will be a very successful event!

I'll be there, playing o­n the Cavalry! I'm bringing my ears with me (New set, you'll see!) And I think that there will be a lot of other paintballers there, shooting it up with us all! I'm looking forward to it! If you're there, come over to me and say hello! You can't miss me. I've got the welts to prove it! :)
I'll be packing my pistol, my KP PAINT-rifle, and a few ther surprises. Not to mention I'm the o­nly guy who will be there with cat-like ears and a tail. I may not be o­ne of the magnificent 7, but we'll get our points, and we'll fight our tails off to win the day, and ride off into the sunset victorious.

Unfortunately, I won't be playing in the game, but I will be there to cheer everyone o­n before the game begins!

E-Liz...... Darkstorm makes a great "mobile bunker". You and 3 of your friends can hide behind him. :P

Tina....... Don't sweat it. Shatner's normal people. Pretend he's a friend of your dad's. Maybe you won't come off as a "fool". :)
Everyone else... I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the first o­ne. It was a blast. I regret that I will not be able to afford this year's Shatnerball II, but I do intend o­n being at next year's game. (someone wizz o­n Mancow's SUV for me this year :))

No where else o­n earth, Scratch that.... No where else in this universe can you find such a fun filled weekend. Starz, celebrities, Great people, Open rec ball play, A Star Trek convention, AND...... Where else can you go out with the Alpha Male himself, The o­ne, the o­nly "Wild Bill" Shatner, Shoot up the forces of Evil in an Epic 8 hour event! Answer: No where but the Spplat Attack!

Once again I have the privledge of serving "The Captain" with the rest of The Magnificent Seven. Last year was o­ne of the most memorable experiences in my life. Due to some logistical issues Bill ended up spending all of his free time between Friday's commitments in my RV. It was an unexpected chance to spend a few minutes talking to him, as well as Elizabeth and Lisabeth. We didn't have a lot of time as "The Seven" had quite a few responsibilities as well (Read as "Learned to appreciate what Bill has to go through at these things ;^) )
William Shatner is o­ne of the most impressive people I've met in quite a few ways. He seems to have a genuine appreciation for those who appreciate him...his fans. It doesn't seem to be an attitude of "I owe it to them, so I better shake some hands." It's more like an honest effort to show appreciation for those who admire his work and talent, and who support causes that are important to him. He gets dogged by fans for autographs, as well as promoters and sponsors for photos and interviews, yet he takes it all in stride. In the midst of all of this he lives life to the fullest. He's no "spring chicken," but you would never know it if you were trying to keep up with him. Race car driving, para-gliding, scuba diving, horseback riding, paintball...he's like the "Energizer bunny," he keeps going, and going, and going...
I have to admit that, when I was asked to be part of The Magificent Seven last year, I thought I knew what would happen. "The Captain" would stand in the back and give silly orders and we would have to try and make him look good. WOW! Was I wrong! At game o­n Bill was off like a shot. I was in charge of the northern third of the field, and as we pushed forward I see Bill moving out in front with the rest of my troops! Minutes later I hear that Tom Kaye has been eliminated. Bill continued to cycle through the command base, but he had a feel for what to do, and what was happening. He would get a SITREP from Pacman, they would have a quick discussion and agree o­n a plan of action, and then he was back out in the field. I personally witnessed him lead a full charge over the hill from Armageddon into Bedlam. Those who have seen the SPPLAT Attack video or DVD have seen him in action as he duped the other sides. That was no "staged for theatrical appeal" setup. That was the Captain pulling another "Kobayashi Maru" in real life.

I have never understood the paintball thing. However my sister is quite the little terrorist with her gun in the back yard. Her team was challenged this fall to a match with the SWAT team. I hope she does as well as "The Captain"

I can't wait for Spplatt 2! Last year I had eye surgery which kept me away from o­ne of my favorite sports - paintball. And this year having it close to me (I'm from NJ) and getting the thumbs up from the eye doctor has me tickled pink!!! Several friends and I were the first to sign up (within minutes of pre-reg going live o­nline). Of course we are all ready to serve "Wild Bill." In fact several of us have gotten cavalry hats to wear over our masks and making a few modifications to aid our "cavalry appearance." In fact I just got in the mail a 7th Cavalry Guidon flag I'll be bringing for the game. Can you tell I'm excited? Less than three weeks to go!!!! Edward Tunis

 Captain! I had such a great time back in joliet I would like to serve under your command again but unfortuntly I would not have the opportunity like last year. But if its in Illinois I would be there if possible. I like to see what the jerseys look like. Its not going to be the redshirts are they. And like at the slantedfedora convention in june of last year I told you your not going to die cause your not going to be alone. I hope you have success as back in joliet last year. Just remember not to violate the temporal prime directive and as Captain Spock always says there always are possibilites. I have to feel sorry for the other combatants for we all know when your o­n the offensive may God have mercy o­n there souls! And are you filming this as well? I'd like to know if any of the Federation forces will give you a hand salute. God speed Captain and bring victory to Federation Calvery forces plus as your old enemy Commander Kor would say " It would be glorious!

Dear Bill,
I must say, I am a huge Star Trek fan and I'm a long time Paintball Player. I missed the first Spplat Attack but I will not miss this one.
I was one of the first to register for this event. I will be playing for the Cavalry.
I have played scenario paintball, recreational paintball, and tournament paintball. I've done it all!
I will be at the Star Trek Convention, and Spplat Attack serving you. I've talked with Toni Brookshie and "Mother" about this and this is truely going to be a great event.
Since it's for charity, I'll go all out and purchase 5 cases of paint so I can light up Tom Kaye and Wayne Brady :)

Absolutely fabulous time!
The convention was small by NYC standards but very cozy and personal.
However, I am happy to report that the Cavalry side led by Mr Shatner managed to pull off a narrow win over the forces of evil!
I had the extreme pleasure of guarding Mr Shatner and Mancow during one of the missions assigned for the event. The only problem was when we came under fire Mr Shatner wanted to get into the thick of it. We'd have to pull him back to accomplish the mission objective! He definitely tried to lead from the front!
Anyway I am waiting with great anticipation for the Spplat II DVD release!
All in all a great time! Hope to see you next year.
