Well we would all like tp pretend we got an Email from Bill.
I like getting my Email from Bill and Lisabeth.

However i am suspicious of the technical details of the Star Trek Merchandise.

For people who arent really really excited about Star Trek theres a suprising amount of detail.

Barbie with Delta Starfleet Engineering insignia.

Okay we know shes wearing red and Red is engineering and science or command are Blue and yellow. We know it has a Starfleet insignia but a how small is the Engineering detail. Is it really that noticable? In my mind it must be the size if a pin head because the regular one is maybe the size of a marble. Thats not the insignia itself but the little star, or curly @ thing in the middle.

Just my thoughts. I wish I could buy them all and the books too.

Someone, Bill, Paul or Bill R is spending alot of time with the Shatnerbellia. Picking them up, petting them and looking at them close. Perhaps to make sure they arent boot leg...

omg Starbase red stands for Security and Engeering. Blue Stands for Science and Medical. Yellow is Command, Operations and Helm.

Red

1. Security Crew

2. Engeering Crew

3. Communications officers

Blue

1. Medical Crew

2. Science Crew

Yellow/ Gold

1. Command

2. Helm Officers

3. Operations Officers

I have done alot of Star Trek RPGs in my time so I am pretty good with the uniforms.

Hey! No making fun of my descriptions (and do you know how hard it was to push the button on the transporter and snap the picture?)

And I guarantee that Barbie is dressed with an Engineering Delta patch on her dress and Ken has the Command Officers Delta on his tunic.

The thing is, Paul, that I've seen those dolls sell for $100 and $5. It depends on what u can get away wiht Very Happy
I saw some at a flea market (building 19) for $30. Harrisons Comics on Essex Street also has em. I didn't ask the price.
But they are pretty common. And pretty silly.

$5!!!! WHERE?

The dolls came out at $79.99 and even heavily discounted on clearance remained at 39.99 for a few years which indicates that the price of 39.99 was close to wholesale cost. You may be able to find one of some things we have in the store a bit cheaper and sometimes a lot more expensive. We buy in quantity and Barbie is VERY popular so the price stays high because this doll happens to be a rare version - released for one year in a nostalgic box. It also is allegedly rare because of something to do with the hole in her hand.

Some one told me over the weekend (a collector of Barbies) that the Star Trek Barbie early editions have a hole all the way through the hand but that this was corrected later on and that hole in the hand makes that Barbie a unique Barbie. I checked the sets we have and they all have the hole so I'm perplexed as to whether this is urban myth or fact but that isn't affecting our price although it is a cool bit of trivia to pass on.

Diana don't worry, you can send me e-mail when you are ready. I'll hold one aside as I said.
