Hi Paul!
When I Signed up for an account it took three times before I was successful. So if there is any leftovers form the two unsuccessful signups they can be deleted.
Are you useing linux on this site?

Did I mention it would be nice if we had a place where we could up/download files like pix, mp3, mpeg, etc. ?

Yes the server is Linux.
And I don't think that we'd allow an upload and download area because of copyright laws. |

Do you read LinuxFormat magazine? It's a great mag. comes with 2cd filled with software. The dvd ver. comes with even more software. and a great place to learn more on linux.

We could maybe use a spell checker here. |

The site is using Red Hat Linux with Apache and likely using Nuke PHP for the web pages.
Theres several componants of the website.
Theres the store. Paul works with the board and the store.
Theres the Development team. The development team designs the site and sort of makes a flow chart on how it will operate.
Its not as simple, cheap or complicated as they would have you think in the IBM commercial.
Than theres the fans. Im a fan.
Heres exactly what the site is running.
Apache/1.3.22 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_ssl/2.8.5 OpenSSL/0.9.6b PHP/4.1.2 mod_perl/1.26 |

| I also wanted to comment that although the site feels sluggish that the Linux server appears to be hadling the load better than the MSIIs server was. |

| Thanks. I'm a big Linux fan too. I've been using it for about 5 or 6 years now. Used to use it as my desktop OS for a bit but just had to have the MS Office apps (Visio, Project, etc.) and there wasn't anything that was in the league . . . yet! |

Its raining today and Im getting caught up on my computer work.
I ordered some computer parts from a company that Im not really happy with but they have some things on sale that I need.
Im trying to download Mandrake 9.0 ISO and than if I get the burner I ordered Ill burn that to disk. I have about 140 megs of disk one already and disk one should be done by friday.
Right now Im just running XP pro but Id like to test Mandrake 9.
I had Mandrake 8 in the past and Sometimes I run that in dual boot mode and I can read mount windows from linux and read LInux files. |
