Diane....Oh oh oh....Remember when we were having that discussion about syphillis coming from the new world to the old and how you said Natives had it first and gave it to Europeons? And you said if any data came to dispute this , you wanted it?
Well, I need your snail mail addy so I can send copy of videotape of program that states So American jungle Natives had a skin condition (rash) that mimiked syp and was spread by skin to skin contact, like painting each other, But NO northern Natives ever had the disease until contact. First europeon case, so far, (they're now REALLY looking) in Hull, England at a Friary in 1300's, also Greece, and more....
It states the skin condition of the So. American Indians didn't protect them from the veneral strain that the invaders brought.....
SO .... ...I feel better now to be able to show you that our ORAL HISTORY of facts has validity...... |

CONGRATS !!!
So you are a Research Scientist, that explains the old saying "combing the desert with a fine tooth comb' (every time I think that reminds me of "Space Balls" ); your tactics in regards to analyzing the problem (kicking the snot out of it (excuse the bluntness)) which I noticed from you posts.
Very good; you remind a little of me however you are better with words then me; you should be in the same room with me verbally
PS - You and Jo would not would, I am confident if the both of you put your heads together and wrote a Scientific/Politic novel, it would SELL!!!
Kind Regards,
Paul Michael |

Well, I survived telling my boss I wouldn't be back; she was actually pretty nice about it, although they've called an "emergency meeting" for Monday to address this (but I don't attend). *whew!*
Littlestar--Wow! I would love to see that. I'd heard about the whippings and skin to skin transfers in S. Am., but have been out of the paleopathology loop this past year so hadn't heard anything about the European finds. I'll pm you my address. Thanks for thinking of me.
