There's a knob called "brightness", but it doesn't work.

I may need a new remote control for my TV, soon.
The "mute" key is almost worn down so far it's hard to push it.

or, is it the price of one man?s political ambition?
ws
what ambition would that be? He already holds the highest office in the land.....try legacy and see if that fits |
and he wants to hold that office for another 6 years and then
turn it over to brother jeb, ambition fits just find. I don't believe
his legacy will be something Americans can be proud of.

I'm already very proud of my President. Now that the Republicans have a majority in both the House and the Senate, I am looking forward to at least two, if not six, more prosperous years ahead.
As for Jeb... well... *crosses fingers* here's hoping.
The proof for a pre-emptive strike against Iraq has been made, sixteen times in fact, each time by the Iraqi Regime in its defiance of United Nation Resolutions.
In my opinion, I fear that people like you will never be satisfied by any evidence other than the detonation of a nuclear weapon in a crowded area that kills thousands, perhaps millions, of innocents. |

Well speaking as someone who lives within 40 miles of one of the biggest terrorists targets I for one do not wish to wait for the terrorists to strike again. I haven't seen any viable options offered to prevent that from happening but kicking Saddam out of power is definitely a step in the correct direction. The only other thing I think would work would be to explain to EVERY country that has supported terrorism at the state level that if anything along the lines of a nuke hitting Manhattan would be responded with the destruction of every capital of every country that has state sponsored terrorist programs. Is that a bit harsh? Yes but that's what's called deterrence. It's what prevented WWIII with the Russians and may be the only way to keep our own cities safe. I'm sorry but there is no indication that anything less will work in any way. The arguments that invading countries like Iraq will lead to more terrorists have some validity but the arguments for the invasion have just as much validity. Since niether argument can offer any sort of guarantee then our best bet would have to whatever is most likely to succeed. The way it's heading now will lead to the deaths of many Americans and ALL Arabs. The people on both sides of this argument may not realize it or admit it to themselves but both of their solutions do very little to prevent that from what I've seen. In some ways solutions offered by BOTH sides of this argument for and against the coming war are actually increasing the possibility of that happening. The fact that each side believes that about the other is a really good indication to me that this is 100% true.
As far as any sort of political legacy Bush may be after he can't do much worse than Clinton, just ask the nearly one million dead Rwandans Clinton used to score political points off of.
Jo as for the close quaters fighting I don't think it'll be that bad. The Iraq citizens are poorly armed and I have a feeling that like the gulf war this is going to be another drastic change in what is considered normal for combat. I just think that there's been a lot of urban training done on our military's part and that there's plenty of stuff that we don't know about that could very well make this next war in Iraq just as one sided as the last one was no matter where in Iraq it's fought. Especially if the Iraqi's find out (once again) that a good way to get a decent meal is to surrender. |
