On the old BBS I wrote about my dream in which I arm wrestled Bill (and won! ), but as weird as that dream was, it's by no means my weirdest. Have a read...
WEIRD DREAM ONE, age 30 - I dream I'm flying as a passenger in a LearJet. The jet is filled with passengers. The jet begins to go out of control and I feel it spinning to the ground. The passengers are silent and crying. I hope it's just a dream. I feel the plane hit. All goes dark.
WEIRD DREAM TWO, age 11 - I dream I'm being chased by an invisible person threatening to cut my head off. I can't run fast and eventually give up, kneeling at the foot of a bed. I sense my beheading is near, but I wake up. The next day I am running in my house and I accidentally knock over a statue of a little boy that my Mom says she bought because it reminded her of me. The statue breaks with a clean break of the head from the body.
WEIRD DREAM THREE, age 12 - I fell asleep on the couch and dreamt that my sister was chasing me. I ran around the house trying to avoid her and made a leap for the couch (the same couch I'm really sleeping in). Just as I hit the couch my sister pushes on my arm to wake me to get up for school.
WEIRD DREAM FOUR, age 22 - I dream I am shot by a machine gun, being hit numerous times. The dream immediately shifts to me in a pool, struggling to move and to lift myself out of the water. My chest is in severe pain as I try to move.
WEIRD DREAM FIVE, age 26 - I dream I am wading through water with an Army platoon. I am holding a rifle. In the distance I see a plane go out of control. The plane heads right for us. We can't move fast because we're in the water. The dream ends before impact.[/list] |

I once dreamed that a massive bird of prey was trying to snatch my little sister, and I was holding her back by the ankles. Terrifying dream!
I also dreamed that I could fly. Great dream.

You think YOU'VE had weird dreams??
I tend to forget mine, thought. Often i just remember half a secound. Right now there's only one dream I ever had that I remember, and that's only because I wrote it down afterwards.
I actually shared the strange story with the old BBS before. In summary, in very very breif (and therefore makes even less sense), it went like this:
Bill, Nimoy, and De Kelly are trapped on an island a la Shakelton. I happened to have this dream not too long after I saw an IMAX documentary on Shakleton.
Sometimes it was first-person, making me Bill.
Oddly enough though, it was actually really Kirk, Nimoy (not Spock, I recall he didn't have the ears), and Bones.
Anyhow, so they're trekking (no pu intended) across the icey, mountainous island when they reach the sea.
They get in small boats they make, and travel a gigantic distance in them to a South American tropical island.
I think I only dreamed this so I could picture Kirk walkin around without anything but shorts
Anyhow, so they get on the island, which is full of short canyons. They are still carrying the boats (perhaps to use once they get to the other side of the island.) At one point there's two corriders of rock.
So McCoy and Nimoy go through one corrider, and Kirk goes into the other corrider.
He temporarilly leaves the boat, as it can't fit through.
On the other side, there's a great veiw of the ocean because he has hit the other side of the island. There is a man-made staircase going through the rock.
Excitingly, he goes down there, calling for McCoy and Spock(ok I remember him calling out his name, so it changed I guess )
He finds a locked metal door, and the corrider going further down. He decides to go further down after Bones and Spock join him.
At the end of the corrider, there is an other veiw. In fact, they are right next to this ultra-rich celebritie's island home, complete with personal airport.
Kirk, still barely wearing much and looking pretty unpresetable (hey lookin like that I know [b]I[/i] wouldn't turn him down , but I guess these guys were stuck-up) has to talk and convince some of the people who live there, to fly em off the island.
They pretty much refuse, but of course he convinces em.
I woke up knowing they went got a ride home

I very rarely anything from my dreams, I have been woken up during a few and know that I do dream in color. I've had two nightmares in my entire life that woke me up. One involved a Grizzly bear under the bed when I was much younger, I used to sleep on the top bunk of a set of bunk beds that I had removed the lower one and had a makeshift work table there instead. The second one involved me totally destroying a Dodge Viper in a car accident.
The most vivid dream I was woken up during seemed so real that I felt like I was living some sort of double life in my subconsious. That one I was working as a Terra-Former on Mars it was somewhat unsettling because there was a few seconds of a wierd sort of dual awareness where my concious self waking up and unconcious self on mars were aware of each other as seperate people yet at the same time they were both me. For a while there I really wondered if the one of the reasons why I rarely remember any dreams had something to do with this strange almost double life. |

I had this dream over the summer where the Matrix people came to my camp to show us how to do Matrix moves and then my mom picked me up. Suddenly it became dark and there were searchlights all over the place. To get to my house, you have to go up a ramp, and then down a ramp. At the bottom of the ramp, there was a sign saying they were looking for a man. When I got home, people were doing everyday things like walking their dogs and running, and then people were floating. Across my street, there was a sign with a description of the man they were looking for. It said "Man. Has bowler hat and umbrella. Responds to the name Steed." At that point, I awoke and became a little scared.
It's a lot wierder than it sounds. |

I had shared this dream on another thread on the old board:
It was my freshman year of college, and I was really into the "Left Behind" novels. This series is made up of 12 400plus page novels describing what life would be like during the final years of earth as depicted from Revelations in the bible. They are religious books and very well written, I highly recommend them.
But, anyway, the dream. I was dreaming that God had made an announcement to the world (don't remember how he did it) that at 3pm (don't understand that part either), all living things on earth would perish. Well, of course, you can imagine the hysteria: People running from their homes, screaming, trying to get to safety. But no one could hide from what was going to happen. I was with my priest at the time, and he and I rushed to a safe house. I remember that the front door led to a long stairway down to a basement. Father Peter made it down the stairs just before the clock struck 3pm. He sat down at a small table, praying. I was just about to reach the last step when 3pm hit. I watched as Father Peter slowly slumped forward and collapsed onto the table. He was dead. I then felt my entire body relax (complete relaxation actually scares me to no end). I collapsed against the stairs, my breath was becoming short. I could feel everything inside me shut down. I was in no pain, but I felt my body slip away. Finally, I sighed my last breath and lost complete control, I layed my head upon the stairs and closed my eyes. I was dead. I mean, I experienced the act of actually being dead...for five full minutes! There was nothingness, no control, no thought, nothing! After a while, my body had had enough and decided to wake me up in convulsions. I awoke, shaking violently, and couldn't stop shaking for almost an hour. I felt death in my dream, and my body couldn't handle the traumatic experience. I was severely depressed for weeks after that. I was always in tears, terrified of my dream actually coming true...
...While I believe in God and know that he loves me and wants nothing but good for me, I also harbor feelings of doubt about what will happen after I pass away. I strongly feel that we are destined to be with God for all eternity, but that nagging feeling of nothingness still haunts me to this day.
Has anybody else had an experience as strong as that? Please share if you are up to it. I thank you for listening to my story. |
