I saw that and I was confused when you said: "that Diane."
I am not sure WHO you were talking about.
Augie | .
Did you ever see a little TV show called Cheers? |

Augie,
By the way, I knew you were kidding with that joke--I actually thought it was funny too--but Joains seemed to be serious, which disturbed me.

I know Diane. But don't get too disturbed, some people really believe it.

If you knew me, you would know I am never serious about a statement like that. It was done to lighten the cloud around here, if you don't think it was funny, don't laugh. Since you don't like stereotypes, you won't like my brand of humor very often and if Augie really thinks some people believe that, that is his issue, not mine.
I have learned one thing from this whole thing, however and I will be keeping that to myself. |

Wow...........This thread got hot.
All:
I have no problem having a woman for a president; heck, she would correct our financial problems ASAP...
At any rate back to Jo's quote, JO I know your humor but you know what, 90% of what you said is true because my wife told me sometime ago "Men need to listen to women, men need to understand women. Women are never stratified and at times have their moods. Women will get things done whatever it takes. Men will sit on it until we have to push them. Women are also tough, believe me today's women are very competitive between one another; Men do not like conflict between one another, they rather forget it as for women, they DON'T".
There were more Wisdom (which I consider) however, the shades of gray on my head are affecting my brain
Take care,
~Doc |

| *diane* wrote: | What a bunch of sexist crap. Speak for yourself if you want, but please don't speak for all of us. I know you are only trying to lighten the mood, but it's jokes like this that perpetuate the idea that women really ARE moodier or more ruled by emotion than men. Jeez. I know I just got home from the airport, but until now I'd been pretty confident I'd returned to the early 21st century.

In my opinion, the current state of male/female relations is that we can all laugh at each other because we all understand that no one statement fits everyone. I never try to speak for you Diane. As for you returning to the 21st century, I think you might have landed in the middle of NOW, but that is just my opinion. Since 90% of all murders and almost all domectic violence, and etc are committed by men, I can make a strong case that men are more ruled by emotion that women have ever even been joked about. Jeez is right. |
