Everybody get through it in one piece?
We ended up with my both my sisters here, one with her husband and three kids, one brother, my uncle, my father, and Bridget's friend Ann. Quite a full house when there's 5 of us to begin with. Dinner went well, no fists fights or arguments, so I consider that an accomplishment. The kids seemed happy, and everyone was out of here by 10 last night.
Today I didn't get out of bed til noon, and Catherine and the kids had cleaned up all the remaining mess that we didn't get to last night. Today I got a chance for the first time in over a week to get out on the bike and relax. Tonight, plenty of leftovers, so no need to cook.
Over all we did pretty well.
How was yours? |

Not Too Bad Considering I was Home Alone
Skype is a wonderful tool for those of us who have family all over the world,
I spoke to my Daughter in Oklahoma, Mid Morning Here
Then later in the day after I had my Turkey etc
I spoke to my son Allan (ASB) in Japan and all the family came on to say hello. Being a very remote area of Japan up the mountains! they had limited access to internet, so the small family hotel ran them a line from the office computer so they could chat to me:) the owner also said hello:) seems they were the only guests:)
Then back over to Australia to my other son Brian , who was sitting By a river with his wife and dog, in a camper van, they were touring. in Adelaide
Then later when Europe woke up Christmas morning , I went to Hungary to chat to my friend ,
and then over to London to talk to my Niece.
a couple of days before, I went to London again and spoke to My friend Joyce who goes to the Shatner weekend ever year with her sister Jenny .
Also I managed to have a phone chat to my friend in Perth Australia.
So all in all I did OK and opened my gifts after tea.
Then I watched Simon Baker ( Love his Smile ) in The Mentalist
OH and I have TRINE 2 so My brain was getting a work out playing this game
Rain storms for the passed few days coming in about 3 in the afternoon, it has not been hot this summer, so far, so no threat with bush fire here this year

Fantastic!
My neice and nephew were here from Boston with their new baby girl.
Friday, my sister-in-law and her family put on the annual backyard Nativity play. Baby Jesus was played by a little girl baby this year ( ) After the play, everyone went carolling in the neighborhood. While they were out, my father-in-law put on a Santa suit and hid in the dark until the children came back from carroling. He had some simple gifts for the children.
Saturday, our church had our annual soup and sandwich dinner and Christmas Eve serivice afterwards. It was great.
Sunday, we all gathered at my sister-in-laws house for Christmas gifts and a fabulous meal.
Today, I got to sleep until 10:00am. Wow! And the cats let us sleep too! |

We all recon he should have played an Australian in The Mentalist, because of his attitude toward firearms ,and his roguish humour:) it would have played better I think:)

We had a ton of food and we had games, more food and sweets and then a chat time where every one told a funny Christmas story......mine was when Samantha was nearly one years old... while Hannah and I and thier Dad were decorating the tree and we had our backs turned for about 2 seconds to grab another ornament....Samantha grabbed an ornament off the tree and licked it !!!! She came over to me and stuck out her tounge which was covered with antique glitter from the antique ornament!! After washing her tounge off with a wet paper towel...she knew to leave the shiny glass orbes alone as she had a bad taste in her mouth!!!

I agree and Owain Yeoman (Rigsby) should have been able to use His Welsh Accent, as well...it still amazes me the skill they both use in The American Accent Department

It was a weird one for me as it was the first without anybody from my side of the family, but we had Steve's parents to stay which was fun as we played silly games and had somebody to make a fuss of. My nicest moment was when we got back from a tiring walk and Joe said he'd start me a bath. When I got up there he'd lit loads of candles, magical!
On the plus side, Steve gave me a smart phone, so I'm having fun exploring that! |

Mine was good! Grandpa made it through ok. He seems to be at the stage of acceptance now--and that's a good thing.
Santy Claus got me a retro 50's style hot air popcorn machine! I guess I didn't realize how much microwave popcorn really costs!!!! A good $3 for 3 bags of the stuff. I got a 2lb bag of kernels for $1.59!!!! It was on sale, and regular price is $1.99. That's a LOT of popcorn to make!!! Much cheaper too!!!
I had to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Got forced in for 4 hours of overtime on Monday--had to start work at 2 am....... Yeah, that sucked!!! The forces have come back around, and I'm getting the same thing-----ON NEW YEARS' EVE!!!!! I will technically be going in on January 1st (2 am....), but the amateur drunks will still be at it. Sigh.....
I am counting my blessings though. I still have a job to go to! Now I just hope the neighbors from hell don't blow up the neighborhood on the 31st. I have very low expectations from them. Dirtbags!!!! |
