Bob came home from Mississippi last Tuesday. On Friday we went to the "War Plane" Event at the Lakeland airport. These were RC replicas of combat planes used throughout history. Saturday, I had to take Bob to the hospital with TIA like symptoms. A TIA is a mini stroke. He is OK, but has to be careful.
Sunday morning, I had to reprint the church Gazette because of some last minute changes. Left from church and went to hospital to see Bob who was anxious to get home so he could go back to work. The hospital was really good too. They did three different tests in one day.
Monday morning, I took my dad to the clinic for his heart tests which lasted all day. While waiting on him, I had to go get Bob at the hospital and take him home and then back to the clinic to get Dad and take him home.
I told them to pray that I didn't go down or we would all be in trouble.
Any ways, I was up at 5:30am to get ready to take Bob to Tampa to meet up with the team that was going back to Mississippi to finish up the job. They want to get back by Sunday or Monday because two have plans for Hanukkah and two have Christmas plans.
I took the rest of today to rest up for tomorrow because I have to work.
As Catt said in another thread, "God is Good!" He sent some angels to get me thru these last few days. |

It's good to know everyone is OK!!!
I know how you feel. Right now I feel like I'm being pulled in several directions at once, and I'm praying for the strength to get through it all!!! Something has got to give sooner or later, and I'm hoping it's not my sanity!!!!!!!! |

Sorry to hear you're all having a bad time.
Glad to hear Bob & your Dad are doing OK though Sue.
Catherine's down with bronchitis. I'm in the midst of finals, worried about the kids Christmas. The oven finally got here last Saturday, still so much to be done. Trying to get it right. This house still looks like s**t and we're having my entire family over here for Christmas day.
Weekend is cleaning and decorating time.
Still tough trying to get around, rehab is helping alot though.
So much to do. So little time.
God is good. (I hope...) |

I pray that everything comes together for you vampy and that you have extra strength.
I also pray that Catherine gets over her bronchitis soon, CaptJTK. Don't worry about the house too much. It is you the family is coming to see. |

Why, thank you ma'am!!! It's mainly the usual holiday b.s. here. My grandpa is very depressed and not eating right. Not good since he's a diabetic..... Very understandable about his depression. I'm that way too. It's just weird not having grandma around..... (and I managed to type that without my eyes leaking!!!)
On a good note, I just finished wrapping all of the presents. Not a huge task, but we had a very odd-sized one this year. My sister and I went in on getting new vertical blinds for my parents. Their set is broken, and can't be repaired--must be replaced. I had to wrap a "box" 3 inches by 3 inches square, and 79 inches long!!!!
I hope Catherine is getting better too!!! I'll send up a prayer for her!! Just got over bronchitis myself about a week ago. Got set up with a hefty dose of meds to keep it from going into pneumonia. I'm good to go!!! (so far ) And I'm VERY happy that I decided to get a nebulizer machine. It helped a lot!!! |

My sister sent me a recipe for homemade cold medicine. I has only three ingredients: fresh ginger root, garlic cloves, and sugar. The ginger and garlic gets peeled and sliced.
In a glass jar with lid, layer the ginger root, garlic, and sugar in the jar, close it up and let stand for 4 to 6 hours. The sugar draws the liquid medicine from the ginger and garlic.
You can put a teaspoon of the liquid into a warm (not boiling) cup of water for a tea, or you can get brave and take the spoon straight.
It is supposed to be good for congestion, sore throats, and coughs.
I made some yesterday. Potent stuff. |

Sorry to hear that Bob was in the hospital. Did they discover what had caused the problem?
Remember to take care of yourself as well, Sue. When you are caretaking for others, it's easy to neglect yourself. Make sure you are getting rest, and trying to eat well.
The garlic and ginger reminded me of a really bad virus I had while we lived in Aus. I was eating so much garlic and onion I am sure I was wonderful to be around......... |

Thanks for the tip Sue. She's on scripts now, but anything that can help is great. When she gets sick it really worries the hell out of me.
Going to try and make up some of the natural stuff tonight.... |

I hope Cathrine is doing ok steve..and am glad she got some meds....
This helped Hannah when she had a case of bronchitus too:
Hot honey lemonade
4 Tablespoons lemon juice
4 tablespoons honey, raw or dark
1 cup boiling water.
Mix all ingrediants and stir to melt the honey. Drink while hot, and will hel relieve some coughing from colds....
