Took a day trip into the city today, and thought I'd share some pics of our new Liberty Tower.
As close as I could get to the base.
Talking to these guys, they're about to the 80th floor of 104. This is the first of 4 towers going up, this one being the largest.
A little farther away.
The base is still under construction. Behind the walls is the new memorial, but it's being guarded from being seen by plywood inside of the fence until it's unveiled on the anniversary.
The total picture from as far back as we could go.
After viewing the tower, we walked down to the Seaport, got some lunch, the girls did some shopping at the pier, and we ended the day at J&R Music.
We were lucky to get to the Seaport today. In 24 hours it could be underwater.
Seaport Museum.
As of noon tomorrow, all mass transit in Manhatten is going to come to a halt, and there are manditory evacuations for parts of the city, as well as all of Hoboken. On the way home tonight, we heard that they have closed the Garden State Parkway going south at my hometown's exit. I called my father last night and told him to get up here, but he refused, so he's on his own now. I can't even get down there if I wanted too.
So, we had a great day today, and are looking at days of hell ahead.

 you stay safe there too now Steve.....
Please keep us updated on how things are and that you are ok...you might want to plug in your cell phones tonight and give them a good charge before the storm hits.

Very nice pics!! I wish they would show the progress more on the national news!! To me, that is a boost of morale. And I think everyone could use that these days!!!
