I have been trying for a long time to figure out what the message is on this shirt. I can make out some of the letters, but it is hard to tell where one word ends and another begins. Does anyone know enough Hebrew to interpret it?
The photo is not the best. With a black background, it is hard to get a good photo, but you may be able to pick out enough to give me an idea of what it says.
I am sure that the message is positive but want to make sure.
Thank you in advance.

I am wondering if it is saying some thing about the names of the Jewish Holidays that are celebrated?
I see a Menorah and a Star Of David and it looks like a Dreidle on the shirt...
IT Is hard to see some of the letters on there...

It could also be a prayer of some kind. The words I have made out so far are: Father, chief and Israel.
If I could type in the letters, I would. It would make it easier. |

Perhaps it may help if it is known where you got that shirt and possibly they would be able to tell you what it means. |

Maybe it is a collage of the names and positions Of God?
He is the Father of All....
Israel is the apple of His eye
He is the chief of all things
He also is the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End

It was bought in Israel. My inlaws brought it back with them as a gift.
I sometimes joke, saying it says, "My folks went to Israel and all I got was this T-shirt."
I also see the word for Jerusalem in there.
I will try to get a better photo of it. I may even take it over to the university. There are several professors who speak Hebrew fluently. If I can catch one of them, they could probably read it in a heart beat. |

Not sure. May be close though:
Sha'alu Shalom Yerushalayim (Pray for the peace of Jerusalem),
HalleluYah! Hodu ladonai ki tov, ki l'olam chasdo. ("Halleluyah! Give
thanks to HaShem, for He is good, for His kindness endures forever!")

It is very close to it. The second line on the shirt has an outline of a building around it (hard to see in photo).
Here are the letters from as they appear from right to left: (I will type them in left to right):
first line: (aleph vet tzadi) (yod sin vav aleph lamed) (dahlet vav dahlet)(hey) (I am not sure if the hey is a part of the other word)
second line: (vet vav aleph sin yod chet gimmel) (This word is between the aleph on the first word, first line and the dahlet)
third line: (vav zayin) (yod reish sin lahmed yod samekh)
fourth line (next to the menorah): (chet yod yod samekh) (tet vahv vet yod samekh) khahf
fifth line: (mem gimmel nun) (dahleht vav dahlet This word was just before the star) (nun samekh fay dahleht tzadi lamed)
sixth line: (fay reish chet yod samekh) (tzadi dahleht yod kahf)
Last line: (kahf reish) (sin lamed vav samekh tahv)
To the best of my ability, those are the letters. I may have confused a sin for a sheen or tzadi for an ayin.
Also, I there are no vowel markings, so I am sure that will make a difference.
If your head isn't spinning and your eyes aren't watering, perhaps you can help me figure this out.
I love this shirt and I am sure the message is a positive one. I just don't want any surprises. |

Deuteronomy 6
4: Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6: And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
8: And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9: And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
I hope this helps.

I am not really sure, since I cannot read or write Hebrew but I do know that that passage is the Holiest Prayer in the Torah.
The prisoners in the concentration camps would recite/sing it on the way to the Gas Chambers.
I know a Rabbi who gave me a copy of a Jewish Prayer Book.
On the left page is the English and on the right page is the Hebrew.
Having visited the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. I knew about the prayer so I went to an English to Hebrew translation site and typed in the first line of that prayer and posted it for Sue.

It's probably close enough. Some of the lettering is different from the verses you put in, but it could be a translation difference too.
If anyone else has a different translation, I am sure they may post it.
I do know that the word located inside the outline of a building is "Jerusalem." |

OK, Here it is in a nutshell. I posted this in sincerety of finding out what the shirt says. My inlaws brought it back from the Holy Land. They went with a church group.
Bottom line. I want to make sure that the shirt isn't some sort of proselytizing preachy shirt.
I appreciate your willingness to help, but I would really like to hear from someone who actually KNOWS and understands Hebrew.
I am only sorry that the photo is so blurry. |

Thank you Spock!. I just wanted to be sure that I was not going to get me into trouble with my friends.
I may still try and write the letters down and take a photo of them. |
