I just heard from Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens that the second book in the Star Trek Academy series may get written after all. They said it was just put on hold because of the movie, but since nothing in the original timeline has changed it might yet get the go ahead.
I hope it will since the first was one of my favorite Trek books so far. |

Oh that would be great and we can see what Jim Kirk and friends will be getting into trouble next!
Thanks for the info!

hmm, I found the first book a bit "out there" and wondered how they could build such a background and still get the main character to manage graduation. |

It does say that it is derives "solely from the author's unique personal vision." And since Bill is listed as the main author I assumed it was his vision. And I have to admit that I always assumed that Kirk and Spock probably knew each other at the academy.
It is my favorite Star Trek book. I've read it several times and even wrote a paper about it for a lit class at Starfleet Academy (the one that is run by STARFLEET, the International Star Trek Fan Association). |
