I think the episodes are okay, and the characters okay, and the plot lines okay, but I have yet to find an episode that makes me sit on the edge of my seat and clap at the conclusion. I think that they are trying for something different, but that after six hundred hours of Trek, five hundred of them just within the last fifteen years, they are hard-pressed to find something original. If they would find some fresh writers, never once involved with Trek, and put them in charge of writing, then I think that we might get a better feel for the series.
The problem remains, though, and that is to make everything canon. Thus far, I've not been impressed with their ability to keep things streamlined. In the episode 'Carbon Creek', I found more holes in the Vulcan characters than I had ever seen in any other episode ever.
If the series were not Trek, I might like it more, but since it is, well, I'm still waiting for that really good climax.

Folks I have to give Enterprise the benefit of the doubt. I feel the crew is meshing well and characters are growing. For example, Hoshi. At first I hated her whinning but now she is one of the stronger characters.
Does anyone else have a problem with the audio portion of the show? It went soft on our broadcast in Chicago during the last episode where the chief miner spoke to the lead Klingon raider. So I was unable to hear the exchange.

I enjoyed the last episode in which the bullies got their just reward. I dislikes the "night in sickbay": it tried TOO hard to be funny and flopped. I give the show a B-. |

i]Enterprise[/i] was meant to be different. Scott Bakula was a mistake in casting as the Captain.
The only other person I can think of as being a worse Trek starship captain would be Kevin Costner. Bakula and Costner are talented actors but their acting is not in keeping with Trek. Archer is too much "Vulcans can kiss my butt". This weeks episode, T'Pol showed just how much Vulcan butt can be crammed into tight uniforms. Baby has back and it just wasn't pretty from my point of view.
The heavy sexual content is not to my liking. If I wanted Space Porn I'd order Pay-for-View. The episodes have had good story telling potential but are woefully unable to knit the characters together. My expectations was what would Star Trek be like in the begining of the journeys to other worlds, first contact, etc.
So far all Enterprise is doing is following a Vulcan road map and saying "...that speck there looks good. Hope there's a trek-stop I've really gotta pee!" Hey, did Archer give his dog to the Klingon's for an after-dinner dish? I don't remember seeing it this year.
Lots of other observations but time is short. Paramount killed the wrong Captain. |

I like the new Enterprise. I just wish they would get more character development going in it. The last episode with the Porthos was good. and I like the one when the Vulcans came to earth in the 1950's. that could change alot of star trek history.
I still like the orginal series best. but something is better than nothing |

I understand a person can have hearling loss at my age but am I the only one with the audio from UPN? Might it be a local transmission problem? ENTERPRISE is the only program I experience it with.

hi
I personally like the show if it can take its place in the star trek hall of fame only time can tell.
I can remember everyone saying how bad voyager was when it first came on t.v. but it turned out fine in the end and we should really just sit back and watch the show and let it stand on its own
merits.. |

I read an Article in last weeks USA Today comparing TV show Ratings and Enterprise Ratings led the way in lost percentage from last year.
It is down over 40% from last year, that was #1 by a wide margin.
Paramount is still pumping a ton of money into it. It had 1/3 page, color Ad for this week's show.
The Show is Bleeding Money. Paramount might cut its losses before to long.
I would rather they put a new executive producer in charge rather than cancel it, I would give the show another chance if they did that.
Regards,
Barry |

Hi all, i have to agree and disagree with you all!!
I am a great fan of Enterprise, but as some have said Bakula's acting is a little off putting (i grew up with him in Quam leap-and loved it), he always talks as if he is talking down or quoting to children eg:
"Well, if u r gonna stick your hand in the flame, its gonna burn" and "Daddy told you not to go in the woods, didnt he?"
Like DUH!!!! It all seems if he is quoting the script and not acting it, in one episode i counted at least 77% of his lines were quoted and not acted, its as if he is trying to have a querky style of speech (like Mr Bill (warp-god) Shatner), and although many a parody of Startrek has included Bills speech style, it was a character querk that worked and always will, but only for James Tiberius Kirk (and his mirror counterpart of couse)
So in conclusion!!! Scrap Archer and get a more captainy captain!!
All other characters are great, and the technology could have been a little more primitive than at start of series, just to show how hard life was for the original intergalactic warp flights, as it stands we have nearly everything trek except replicaters!!!!!
But keep up the good work to all involved and being in UK, i cant wait for series 2............. |

If enterprise where on a real network it more then likely
would have been canceled last season, I believe it ended
the season with a 104 share in the ratings. In my opinion,
if Gene were alive; ds9, voyager and enterprise would have
never made it to television.

| Enterprise just gets better and better. In my humble opinion the episode about Porthos was the best so far. |
