That ends in shit. You ever have that happen?
Today was great. We hit 70, and even though it was 45 taking the bike in this morning, (a little nippy to day the least) it was worth it for the afternoon ride.
I had a great day at work and great lunch with C, and was looking forward to a relaxed evening at home.
So I get in tonight, Bridget's in the back playing with the dogs, and Alice is out on the street on her scooter. (Mary's at work ) I pulled the bike in the driveway, and we were just hanging out talking for a few minutes, watching the boys across the street on their skateboards doing jumps. Alice looks at me and says "Do you have license plates on the bikes Dad?" Of course I do. "So where's yours"?
I looked at the back of my Triumph, and the plate is wrapped up under the back fin. Someone had to have run into it while it was parked at work and it's mangled. I just had a custom plate cover put on it at the end of last riding season! What the *F* is wrong with people? I park the bike in a space with the tail far enough back as to be seen with the cars. My designated parking space, mind you! It looks like someone wasn't paying attention and tried to pull into my space and hit the rear end of my bike. This is the second time since I bought it. At least this time I wasn't on it.
Jeez, do I have luck or what? I'm just a little p/o'd right now, no, not a little, allot. What ever happened to owning up, having responsibility? It's not something terrible. I wouldn't of been that upset. What does make me angry is that the whole way home the bike was making a noise in the tail and I kept thinking, I gotta get this in for a road check soon......
Going to have them check the security camera's tomorrow..... |

Yeah, got an email from my old man today, a joke thread.
Womanese, the language of women.
Was going to post it, then re-read and thought better of it.
I've been a target around here too much lately.....
Security cameras are a great invention. |

At USF, there is a special parking area just for motor bikes. It is designed so that no car could park there if they tried. If they did try to pull in, they would hit a pole instead of any bike.
Are there others who ride motor bikes? Perhaps your company could come up with a solution. |

Thing is, professors have designated spaces outside of our offices, so no one is suppose to park in our spaces even if we're not in on that day.
It's one of the perks, I suppose.
I just want to know who did it, and why they were so afraid to own up. I wouldn't of bit anyone's head off, just pay for the damage.
Jeez, they should know me by now.
I'm a nice guy.
Just don't *f* with me. |

Amazing no one was killed in that video Daisy. I wouldn't want to see the tire damage on that car though!
Just got in from work. Guess what? They don't run the camera's in the faculty lot on during the day. They only monitor the student parking. Wow, I feel so safe now......
But on a good note, as I was taking to security this morning, Bob, the head maintenance guy was just hanging out listening. I was "rather" p/o'd when I found out about the camera's. Bob's a real big quiet guy who runs maintenance. The kind that hardly ever strings 2 words together.
So I come out tonight to ride home and everything's perfect. I mean like nothing ever happened! The cover is welded back together good as new, the plate's straightened out, the bracket's fixed and all the hardware is back in place.
I went back in and found out that Bob took it apart this morning after I went to lecture and spent the morning welding it all back. Never said a word. I couldn't find him before I left today, but I've got to figure a good way to thank him on Monday.
Some people's kindness is overwhelming. |

You never know when you might have an "angel" in your midst. And you can calm down now. |

Steve, it's a shame about the damage, but if it hadn't been done, you would not have had the chance to witness the kindness of Bob, and he would not have had the chance to do something for someone else. God works all things out for good. |
