| ...in a wet, sandy area containing hundreds of fiddler crabs, and it looks like you can't get out without stepping on them, what should you do? |

Dig down one foot and throw the sand and crabs to the side as you walk....

This thread may be a joke
BUT!! believe it or not, when we lived in Malaysia we went to a remote beach way up the coast, we were the only folks there,. and we got bogged, and there were thousands of these crabs, we had to in fact step on them there were so many, The kids played by the shallow tidal beach while i struggled in the heat for what seemed like a couple of hours, we tried everything!!!. I was near collapse ( I could not drive then and I was doing the pushing)
Then from No where came these two young men and they helped me push the car to freedom, we were a long way from home and typical of us in a remote area.
Not a fond memory, but my guardian angel came to the rescue. The local folks took one look at me when we drove to a cafe, they brought me glasses of water and rubbed Tiger balm on my temples . Tiger balm always reminds of that day:)
Just thought I would share that moment:)

I can't top that story, Gorny, and Daisy!
The only time it happened to me was walking on a beach in South Carolina and I suddenly noticed that I was amongst thousands of these fiddler crabs. I stepped on as few as I could as I walked the 20 feet to safety. Thanks for the tip, L.S. I was just curious if there was a way not to kill any and still get away. I know it's hard to tell if I am joking or serious at times. |
