What would he know he is just a comedian!! I hate this character, the only Face that does not fit, JJ tried to get look alike for most of the characters why did he fail with dear Scotty.
It will be Star Trek 12 wont it!!
and should be:)

Don't beat around the bush Daisy, just come out and say it
Interesting, I agree. I didn't think Chekov was a look alike, but I liked
his character.
You are right, Scotty was nowhere near our Scotty.
I DID think Pike did a great job... |

Nope don't like the idea of starting over with the numbers. It's hard enough now with the whole... Kirk "prime" versus "new Kirk,' Spock prime and 'new Spock" etc etc
I agree with Daisy this should be 12 NOT two

What do you think of starting over with the numbering...?
Star Trek II came out in 1982....
Just curious |

Well.. they DID have MIGHTY big shoes to fill when they went back to the origins.
Don't be so harsh. We didn't get enough of Scotty imho. Everyone NAILED their characters with one exception.. Sulu. I think both Scotty and Sulu's characters we did not get enough of.
I don't think we can compare them tho to the original cast. TOS, really was a mesh of people playing well off of one another. |

| I was reading this thread earlier. Despite the naysayers, I feel that you shouldn't expect the actors to be carbon copies of the original. |

Well, if you go back and look at the episode where Scotty was accused of stabbing a dancer, one got the impression that he may have been a bit of a party goer in his youth and certainly knew how to have a good time. Perhaps the young Scotty is reflecting some of that unpolished engineer fun side of the Scotty we really didn't get to see much of in the original series.
Just sayin. |

The question is: If there was no Original Star Trek Series and the Star Trek 2009 movie was released would You like it as a movie?
No Bill, No Jimmy or George...No Nichelle or Walter.
Instead a new movie introducing the Star Trek Universe.
Would it float or sink?

Now that I think about it I kind of like the idea of starting over with the numbering. Especially if they don't use roman numerals. It is logical since it is a re-boot.
I think Simon Pegg is terrific as Scotty. (My second favorite recast character after Karl Urban as McCoy.) I see that Bill has even started following him on Twitter. |
