Well the Slashdot link works.
This leads you to the myouterspace.com link, which may work, or may not work (When I tried it, it didn't work expeditiously).
Assuming fate smiles on you, click on A Message from the Admiral video.
Then Click to Watch Video.
It's Bill in a myouterspace commercial.

That wouldn't work for me. I'm not an artist, composer or whatever other field that anyone else would be part of or interested in.
I'm not a techno geek either. ::sigh:: |

Myouterspace.com is connecting considerably faster today than yesterday.
Nevertheless, not a big Myouterspace.com fan. E-business' first rule is keep your site readily available to customers and yesterday, they dropped that ball big-time.
Bill's ad was the reason I created this thread, not Myouterspace.com.
QuickTime free is available here. If your computer can handle it, I recommend installing it, because a lot of Internet movies require it. |

I was able to get in (I used the Slashdot link)
DUDE! This is so COOL!
And it's already got 1500 people! I'm liking this! I think I'll post it to my FB once I get a chance to go through it later.
Great job Bill!!! |

Okay, I joined Creatia so I can force more people to suffer through my (now adult) fanfics! Mwuahahaha....
Seriously though, this is a cool idea! I love the bit of camp that's thrown into, because Sci-Fi will always have a nostalgic relationship with camp! |

I joined Creatia a few days ago. I have written and directed a few amateur films and videos. Mostly horror as the effects are easier. We shot a pretty decent 30 minute horror movie in 8 hours. We shot it on Labor Day at a local park and as we were moving from one location to another a couple of 11 or 12 year old girls rode by on bicycles an screamed as they passed us. I said, "What's with them?" and my camera man replied, "Well, you ARE carrying a severed arm." Oops.
I'm from the Roger Corman school of filmmaking. |

I joined Sirius (gaming). Their initial slow Internet connectivity made me skeptical, decided to wait and see.
Bill has 2855 myoutpace.com friends, which is 2854 more myouterspace.com friends than me (Bill's an automatic friend). Don't plan on being an active member for awhile.
Bill's myoutpace.com profile is shown below; what piqued my interest:
When it comes to acting, Bill does it all.

"Bill's an automatic friend"
Does that mean he is like Tom on myspace? |

Tom on myspace; not quite, instead of Tom's: "I'm here to help you. Send me a message if you're confused by anything," Bill sends you a generic "Between You and William Shatner" greeting:
Dear kstahmer,
Welcome to Myouterspace.com and thanks for participating with us as we launch into creativity and collaboration. We have members now from around the world who are passionate about the arts from every arena of the science fiction realm. Gamers on Sirius to 3D designers on Anteros, from Sweden to Australia we are excited to network with you and create some fantastic Sci Fi projects. Investigate the Planets and those who inhabit them. There is a lot of talent on Myouterspace with great ideas and concepts looking to connect with you. The Starships are warming up!
And, let's get real, that's not really a message from Bill, it's an automated site management message.
Bill has a certain je ne sais quoi, a certain style about him, and his style doesn't include statements like:
The Starships are warming up!

Bill's relationship with myouterspace.com may go deeper than what I had thought.
MediaMonkey describes it as:
"William Shatner's sci-fi social networking site, myouterspace.com."
Does that mean Bill owns & advertises them, or Bill merely advertises them?
Think it's the latter, but not sure. |

I thought he owned it. The set up is very similar to our BBS in some ways.
That doesn't mean his adverts aren't scripted though... |
