My favorite ones to look at were the late Johnny Carson and Merv Griffin.Today, it was Conan O'Brien.Oh,well,no more nighttime talk shows for me. Unless Bill is the guest. |

| I haven't heard the latest. Is Conan going to be on after Leno, or has he quit? |

Late Night Talk shows are boring.
I prefer the Kids in the Hall myself. |

I'd rather pre-1920 viewing. No talkies. I know the TV Land execs are reading this!! |

Whoa!
45 million dollars. For that kind of money I'd sure step aside, or step lively, or step up, or step down, or be a stepping stone........ I'd be out of step, in step, take steps, or do the two step. |

| Yeah, but when you talk about $45m and a out of work crew that was expected to be doing the Tonight Show that $45m probably doesn't go as far as you'd hope. NBC is definitely not thinking ahead, there right back to where they were without Conan, and I don't see a weekly time slot on another network for Conan. The Tonight Show seemed perfect, they should have moved Leno to day time. |

I'd watch either Leno or Letterman, according to who had the better line up that night. Conan sucks in my opinion, so the only way I'd tune in to that is if he was interviewing someone that I really wanted to see. Very few guests would qualify for me to have to sit through O'Brien.
Bill, Dave Matthews, any of the Cowboys.....yeah, that's about it. |

I watched the show last night and I felt bad for Conan...
With 45 Million He could retire at 47 years old...
They say He cannot do another Show until Sept 1st....
The final scene was Conan jamming to FreeBird...
I didn't know He could play Guitar!

I never really warmed up to Conan, but I feel for his dashed dream of walking in Johnnies footsteps. To make room for the mighty chin....

Another NBC screw-up. Remember these are the people who canceled Star Trek seven months before man landed on the moon.
I heard that Conan was getting $32 million with the rest to be divided among his 65 member staff and crew. |

Personally I don't watch either but occasionally dvr the show if a guest is listed in the preview that I want to see. Meanwhile I'm catching:

 | Yeah, that surprised me to so I guess Conan O'Brien really is not completely talentless. I'm a Jay Leno fan. The only other guy even close to being in Jay's class is Craig Ferguson....and I don't know why NBC is just going to let Conan O'Brien's old set lay vacant and empty. Why the hell don't they just give it to Jay? He's the one who rated it in the first place. |

As for Leno:
Where else can you fail - fail miserably - drive away millions of customers, cost your company tens of millions of dollars, antagonize hundreds of affiliates and be given a promotion?
As for Conan:

I'm a Leno fan as well. I especially like "Headlines". I get a kick of Kevin as well.
And of course Craig Ferguson is classic. |

As for Conan:
 | Jay explained what happened about a week ago on the air. He did not want to leave The Tonight Show. He was pressured by NBC to leave so they could give Conan O'Brien his shot. NBC told Jay they would give him a prime time slot. Jay told NBC that he did not think a prime time slot would work for him but they insisted to him that it would citing test studies so Jay did what they asked him to; he stepped down and attempted a prime time shot because NBC insisted to him that it would work. The only thing that Jay Leno is guilty of in all this is being the most cooperative guy in the world...and Jay has also pointed out that when he was pressured to step down by NBC, he was No. 1 in the ratings as host of The Tonight Show. Almost as soon as Conan O'Brien assumed the helm of The Tonight Show, The ratings started to drop pitted against David Letterman on CBS. That was certainly not Jay Leno's fault. |

What ?
Leno is only good on the tonight show his new show sucked royal.
Leno also is full of it, haven't you ever seen late shift ? not that it's factual but that's right up your alley. My prediction is Leno will be off the Tonight Show by next year. |

NBC is dumb but they're not dumb enough to risk losing Jay Leno permanently. |
