Is the meeting place going to be Mount Airy? Should we set a date? I'm ready. I'm thinking if there are those who'd like to meet but can't make it, there's always the digital insertion possibility.

...that's what we need to arrive at some consensus on.

Based on my own rough calculations, whether you're coming from Ontario/Quebec or Georgia/Florida, Mount Airy NC provides a reasonably centralized location in terms of driving distance for those of us within a day's drive of it in the Eastern Time Zone.

In as far as what the area itself has to offer as a 'destination', I can't do much more than the recent firsthand account I offered earlier in this thread. Personally (for what it's worth), Mount Airy is on my 'must see again' list for some point in the future ...regardless of whether or not that occasion is WSBBS related.

I appreciate that many of us who are within that 10-12 hour driving radius might still need a 'bit of help' with making the trip, but - as alluded to earlier in the thread - the 'hitchin' a ride' possibilites increase with the number of us who commit to a gathering like this ...regardless of the location.

If this is indeed an idea that's gaining some serious traction among more than just a couple of us, my suggestion is that we first agree upon a venue, then provide some degree of tentative individual 'commitment', followed by settling upon 'when' ...the details of logistics regarding personal transportation and accommodations can't really be worked out until after that.

I met Jess at a Trek related get-together 6 years ago. We've been married for two and a half years and have a beautiful baby girl.

As you can maybe guess I think these meets are a great idea Very Happy
