I was an Army Warrant Officer and taught soldiers how to use a map, what can I say?

Cool

Interesting story, I hope Idea

We had a map, and found Hollidaysburg, but had no address, no idea.....

As we were tooling into town, I noticed a big man with his shirt off washing his car in the driveway. We drove a little farther and stopped at a restaurant/
kwik store to ask for help.(her name was Wendy)

I ask one of the ladies if anyone knew her(used her full name)....Ha
She used to work there Idea

First they giggled and kept saying....just say something else, anything

So I did.......giggles again Embarassed

They told me her father lived just down the road Idea

You guessed it Idea

The guy washing his car was the father. I had a
"Riverside Ford Macon, Ga" tag on the front of my car(just bought it)
I pulled in the driveway and said "Sir, I'm David from Ga". He
said "no shit"......LOL

I think he was ex-US Marine.....he gave us directions to his ex-wife and Wendy Embarassed

Tina, these unwanted dogs are everywhere. I have no doubt there are
plenty within a few miles of you.

I took out a classified ad in the local paper and found a home

Y'know, with just a little enthusiasm and self-promotion, this could easily have the makings of a WSBBS 'Deep South Summit'!

Pick a Saturday evening at some point in the pup-is-old-enough-to-adopt future...

Identify a suitable restaurant within a stone's throw of Gornman's longitude and latitude (along with a hotel for overnighting)...

Invite WSBBS'ers within a day or two drive to attend (there's a few of us)...

Have one hell of an 'adoption party' for Tina's new pup!

Cool

Yeah there's plenty around here but I'm not paying $450 for one. It was only $100 at the SPCA and that included their first shots, a chip, and fixed.

I may turn out that the people who adopted Spock might decide they cannot keep him after all and return him. It has happened at our local SPCA before.

Too bad there isn't someone in Gorny's area who is a pilot. He or she could simply fly the Gorn-pup to you.

Helluvanidea! Idea

Except, I'm not sure I want to meet some of these people.

I would demand the meeting be housed in a well lighted/and padded
conference room in Hartsfield Idea

Because everyone knows, whether you are going to heaven or hell
you have to go thru Hartsfield Idea

/Excellent puppy transfer territory Twisted Evil

I wouldn't have floated the idea if I wasn't game ...whether or not the idea has any legs depends on the Gorn'ster and Tina.

With an enroute overnight stay in Lexington Kentucky, this would be a roundtrip 4-day roadtrip for me ...no worries!

During a weekend of your and Gornman's convenience, you meet the rest of your WSBBS 'co-conspirators' in Hartsfield Georgia at the appointed time and place for the adoption party ...it's that easy!

Well, if we could do state by state what's the closest one? I'd go to Md! Now who will take it from Georgia to Tennessee to Kentucky, to either Wva or Georgia. lol Bless his heart he'd have more mileage than I put in in a year!
