Look, bottom line time, you launched an attack on jims being "hate-filled" with no provocation. I don't want him to be driven from this board by that sort of attack.
You continue to maintain that your stance is merely a desire to discover, but, I repeat, that is not how it comes over.
In an ideal world, I would like to see you and jims on the board, expressing your opinions and disagreeing (frequently, no doubt)
don't you think you're being a touch pompous saying that jims hates "the leader of the free world"? So what? Why does it matter so much if most people outside of America dislike Bush? Get used to it! I f you could have heard some of the abuse i copped about Thatcher and I hated her!

First of all, I didn't know it was Jims. I was only starting to suspect. My "taunting" was designed to get him to become honest enough to identify himself. The symbols circling the earth in his avatar, the Ghandi quote didn't dawn on me until recently. That's how dense I am. Embarassed

I don't care if he hates any one he likes. But to have a quote from Ghande condemning hate, while you do the opposite, is all I was getting at. Why do you think that's ok?

Sue, many people here launch attacks, not just Dave. From my perspective, I saw Jims launch attacks on Dave, Erifah, myself, and others. You have done the same thing in your refusal to answer the same questions which you yourself have posed during the past several months. Don't go attacking Dave simply because he has an opinion that differs from yours, and because he can back it up.

I don't attack a person because of what they believe, I attack them because they don't back it up.

I'm out of here! I was perfectly happy to have you back on the board. What gets old is the fact that you want to defend your former identity at the expense of simply contributing to discussion. There is no reason to keep fighting old battles. Cripes.

I don't know; with his choice of words, the syntax, the approach to topics, the choice of topics to weigh in on, I don't think that this person is actually JimsKirk.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see jims (or mystic dreamer) attacking anyone until he was accused of being hate-filled, which is a rather unpleasant thing to call someone

No. That's not correct. I advised MD to think again before wishing Jims was back. I said JIMS is hate filled. That's when MD flew off the handle and stormed out. Stop appearing to be so naive, Sue.

Sue,

Please don't forget that Jim's was banned for bad behaviour. He attempted to sneak back with a new name. Whether the game was different is in a way beside the point. If people can do that, it subverts the entire system we have here of being responsible or else. He cheated, he got caught. It's the lying, and the treatment of the rest of us as fools by assuming we aren't onto his ridiculous game, that is most irksome.

From what jims said to me in pms, he was invited back, so it wasn't sneaking back. it was pretty bleeding obvious that it was jims, with his Ghandhi by-line and his avatar.
I don't think he's been lying at all, and Dave, I'd rather be naive, and no, I wasn't pretending, than unpleasant

Sue, would you rather be ignorant than unpleasant?

Jims knows exactly how to play you to get you to defend him.
You are his willing dupe. Everyone can see it but you.

What does that make you?

I had a feeling this thread would lead to something like this but I didn't think it would boil up over Jims. I was under the impression that Jims wasn't completely banned from the old board but was only banned for 30 days as a cooling off bit.

I have since learned that Jims' banning period was up; I didn't realize that when I posted earlier today.

My problem with Jim's posts as MD wasn't that he was here--I for one was impressed with how well he was behaving. What annoyed me were the constant coy references to Jim's from within the MD guise. It was as if he were trying to flaunt how smart he was for creating a new identity, thinking no one here was smart enough to see how clever he had been. I attempted to address this privately with him, suggesting he tone things down or risk exposing himself, but he ignored me entirely. In the end I decided to stop the game. I regret the attacks on innocents such as Sue, Littlestar and others who were caught in this when the sh*t hit the fan. My only goal was to see MD discontinue his patronizing game of concealed identity.
