I AM ENRAGED!!! I say, lets run out on to the streets and bare our anti-TV Land chest tattoos to the world NOW! ACTION is IMMEDIATELY required.

How much longer must we wait for Pre-1920's material to return to the channel? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Mad Mad Mad

Morgram, you'll be delighted to know that I didn't give-up the cause when I was travelling. I managed to get two Himalayan yak herders to sign up for our campaign. Neither have televisions (in fact, neither had even watched TV), but they were outraged once I told them about TV Land's shenanigans. OUTRAGED!

You can be assured that the sacrificed yak will help to bring Pre-1920's footage back to our screens.

I totally did that, but it just seemed to enrage people further, and there was a lot of vomiting and eye gouging..... Embarassed

I truly suspect that all television program directors are basically evil. They find out what people most like to watch, and immediately eliminate it from their programming.

HGTV is just as bad. They use to have a lot of good decorating shows, now the majority of their line up is taken up with home sale programs. Boring!

I suspect this is all part of some evil plot to destroy us. I'm not sure who is behind it, but I suspect it has something to do with aliens. Shocked

This just makes me dig in deeper! I've noticed TV Land will air the exact same episodes of Andy Griffith two times in one night! OOOH, that makes me mad! 8 years of shows and we see Floyd the Barber's pen pal twice in one night! OVERKILL!

If Charlie Chaplin was alive to see this, he'd move to Switzerland!!

Ha! Ha! Take that, TV Land!

Excellent! Only a true friend would do something like that! We're very lucky to have Harry on our side, Morgram!

And another thing. Whilst I was up in the Himalayas, on a particularly cold night, I came across a nomads' tent. Well, you can be assured of my astonishment on entering, when I found twelve herders and a sadhu watching the following film projected on to a yak's hide:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_KaR1r2onA

Take that up the jacksy, Andy Griffiths and TV Land execs! Even yak herders have a more sophisticated taste for knowing what is quality entertainment!

I'd stopped watching TV a long time ago.You take cable and you end up paying for trash. We have a converter box to get regular TV,and you still getting trash, except for a few good TV Shows that I may watch for I view on the internet anyway. That's where it's at!You can watch all your favs, listen to music and watch movies, pay bills, etc. This is the future here, whether we accept it or not. There's a lot of vintage shows coming on websites such as hulu and tv.com.to check out and you get less commercials.I watched TV shows such as Big Valley,The Addams Family,I Dream of Jeannie,Bewitched to name some.I'm sorry that you can't get good quality shows anymore and TBE are not going to change that for they will not listen and they don't really care. They follow the money where they can get rich fast and how soon, unfortunately. We have to change our viewing choices to get some satisfaction.Take care.Peace.

If they'd only realize that pre-1920 programming is where ALL the money can be made!! It has been proven, time and time again, that all world loves pre-1920. It's universal!

Churchill told us to never give in. Never, never.

Okay, I'm out of the loop...

Morgram, your link gives me the below message.

Please tell me:

  • Did you see something already written and provocative that TV Land removed?

  • Are you aregister11 who wrote something - which is always provocative - that TV Land removed?

  • And finally, are you enraged by the original message or its removal?

[This message has been removed as it violates each of the following principles applicable to these Forums and/or this board.

1. The proper location for requesting new shows is the New Programming Suggestions board. This is clearly stated at the top of this board.

2. These Forums have nothing to do with Nickelodeon or Nick at Nite. I believe the former have message boards at http://www.nick.com. I do not know whether or not Nick-at-Nite has put together message boards. I do know that we cannot help you in this regard. However, you are welcome to discuss those networks on the Other Networks and Their Shows board. We do not forward any comments on those boards to the networks discussed.

3. TV Land is no longer a network of just classic television programming. Requests to return to that format are no longer helpful and, thus, no longer accepted. You are welcome to request different classics (which remain a major part of the programming) or that they air in particular time slots, but, asking that all the programming be classics is not appropriate. We understand that this sounds harsh, but, any suggestion of a return to the all classic format is not going to get forwarded and I would prefer that any suggestion made have at least the possibility of consideration.

Thank you.

No, I am no longer registered nor would I want to be on that infernal site. I just think that the tact taken by the a-holes running TV Land is unprecedented in terms of what is suppose to be good PR. You SHOULD NOT continue to ram doo-doo down the public's throat after they've told you that they don't like it. NEVER have I seen such overt contempt for the public. They keep running the same batch of Andy Griffith eps over and over and over and over and over and over again. Sick!

I can think of something worse...... when that little pampered pooch was "having relations" with her arm..... sadly, I think Joan rathered enjoyed it... Shocked (Nah, I didn't watch the show, the commercial for it was horrifying enough... Wink )

I use to enjoy shows like House Hunters, but now the network shows little else, and it's gotten boring. They sort of missed the boat on timing as well, as the housing market is not what it was when these shows first started.

The ONLY thing going for Joan Rivers is that she was born Pre-1920's. I'd like to see a staple gun talking to poor people and crack addicts.
