Why do we watch?
Why do we get involved?
Why is it so much fun when our team wins?
I've got boocoodles of answers, but I want to hear from you first |

I watch ballgames for the potential bloopers. Any kind of unusual happening, like Steve Bartman getting doused with beer at the Cubs game or Phillip Wellman, the madman.
I enjoyed watching the fans of the Cleveland Browns throw beer bottles at the refs and all over the field. That was like heaven on earth for me. It was only a short time later when a ref threw a flag right at a Browns lineman and the flag hit him right in the eye. If I remember correctly, the lineman shoved the ref to the ground.
Another cool moment in sports was when Ron Artest and Stephen Jackson charged into the stands and began punching the fans. That needs to happen at every game, in my opinion.
I was thoroughly entertained when the Penn State fans threw snowballs and iceballs at the other team. One coach got bonked on the head with a snowball and I think it knocked him out. Good times, good times.
I think most people go to games to get drunk. I don't do that, but I see a lot of it happening around me when I go to a game.
I think people like to see their team win so they can get in the faces of the other team's fans.
I just think a lot of it is booze and fighting. There's the vicarious element for some fans, but not me. If the Orioles win or lose, it doesn't affect me personally.
In summary, I think it's bloops, bleeps, bedlam, brawls, blunders, booze and battery. Battery as in assault and battery and batteries thrown at John Rocker.
I wonder if they're still spilling beer on Bartman. By now, it must be like a reflex reaction. |

| I only enjoy sports when I care about who wins. I shall be watching Andy Murray take on Andy Roddick this afternoon at Wimbledon. I really want him to win, despite the fact he's a chippy Scot! |

What the heck happened to the courts at Wimbledon? They look like shit! Don't you people over there have any maintenance workers? It's like watching a 3rd world country. |

| It's grass. Grass gets worn out after 2 weeks of solid play in full sunshine. Clay stays the same. Are you confusing the two? |

That just looks awful
If they can't get the grass healthy, can't the Queen cough
up enough to pay a couple of surfs to paint it green |

Plus they have this grass that's designed to withstand heavy traffic.
By far, the best sports are on The Ocho. |

Pride. We identify ourselves, firstly, by our families, then by extension our community and our nationality.
As part of our community, we take pride in community accomplishment. Therefore, we want our schools, our teams, our businesses to produces successful outcomes.
Therefore, we invest (both financially and emotionally) in our community endeavours, including our athletes and associated sports. When they do well, we can all take a smidgeon of credit. From the cheap seats to the box seats to the sponsorships.
I miss the Expos...

Plus now you have lights and a roof and night play on centre court. adding extra stress to the grass.
I cant watch these games anymore I get too stressed, I just watch tiny bits to see how each player is doing:)
