You nailed that one right on the button, Gorny. The other nite I watched the beginning of the BET Awards and, of course, the first speaker was some half-assed rap artist and he starts off with "Michael Jackson was a BLACK man...HE belonged to US! WE just SHARED him with everyone ELSE." Quite a revelation, I always thought it was Jackson's own idea to share his talent with the rest of the world. AT EVERY CONCEIVABLE OPPORTUNITY those on the left JUST LOVE to interject racial politics. Last week within less than 2 hours after it being reported that Michael Jackson had died, you had Sharpton delivering a phony sounding diatribe supposedly lamenting Jackson's passing and how alot of people who trashed Jackson while he was living were now praising him. I'm surprised he didn't mention Fox News by name. As far as overkill, the 24/7 news networks have been overkilling for many years now. I remember what it was like before the 9/11 attack. Hour after hour, minute after minute for many weeks, their single-minded fixation with Gary Condit. 12 hours after the attack, WHO'S Gary Condit? The mass media has been wallowing in overkill for years...and it's not just that. It's their overall demeanor. Most of them come across as Hollywood gossip reporters instead of journalists. I've been sick of our mass media for years. |
You know, it's a real shame that the left has such an ugly side to it because there are hundreds of millions of people wordwide, of all races and ethnicities, who want to pay homage to Michael Jackson because of the extraordinary musical entertainer that he was...but unfortunately, all some on the left see in the passing of Michael Jackson is an opportunity to feed their hate by using the event to take petty potshots at whitey. It is disgusting, sickening and infuriating. |

Funny Morgram, I don't think I see anything leftist in what you highlighted. Perhaps it was a poor word choice in that the rapper was obviously an African American and he obviously was claiming MJ for African Americans... it wasn't a massive leftist statement... in fact it was a bit of truth in that MJ was originally African American... no matter how many surgeries he had to change that. |

Well, you've got to admit that all Billy Mays was- was an obnoxious, disgusting yelling salesman (something I abhore). The reaction I have to his pitches is NOT to buy the product, not even if it seemed like the greatest thing in the world.
Michael Jackson was a singer and entertainer- a world better type of skill and employment, IMO.
Littlestar- I just read that they're talking about having memorial services in other places than California. I think media circus is a good description. |

Ditto....once they are in the GReat beyond there isn't much you can do for them....
I bet that is going to be a mad house on Tuesday...They are already getting the security beefed up and reports are starting to surface before plans are even in place that people are camping out at the Staples center in California..and I hope no one gets hurt while there...
