Everyone is probably thinking I mean Star Trek which is in its self a spectacular phenomenon with a magic of its own. But I am talking about theater that creates a certain mysterious magic. I was interested in acting at one time and was exposed to theater first. The atmosphere is charged with a mystical excitement and enchantment as characters are formed. The stage is transformed and a story is told of epic proportions that hopefully will draw the audience into your world and captivate them into believing that they are the one on stage experiencing every tear and laughter. I know this might kind of sound corny, but honestly that's the way I feel. After finding out about William Shatner's background in theater, all of a sudden I have been reminiscing about my experience on stage. It was something on the side that I started to do. I was only in 5 plays and 1 musical because my health started to get bad and I could no longer do plays. Two of the plays I was in was 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' as Calpurnia and the 'Crucible' as Tituba. TV is probably the same way. Thank you Bill for bringing those magical memories back.

Like you, I was in a play once and loved it.

When I was working as a substitute teacher, I loved to sub for the pre-schoolers and Kindergärtners. Story time became magical for me because I put everything I had into the stories and kept the children's attention.

Have you checked with your local library? Some have a day when children can come and be read a story. I know some Barnes n Noble bookstores that do that as well.
