Do you study British history in schools? I've always wondered if you study British history up to a certain point then concentrate on your own....

It's not part of the Canadian curriculum. However, it was one of my electives in college. We had a choice between world, N.A. and British.

As I recall, I selected British history because it was early morning Friday and that let me have Friday afternoon free to work.

In Quebec, back in the day, retail store hours were 9 to 6 Mon - Wed, 9-9 on Thurs/Fri. 9 - 5 on Saturday.

I had a sales clerk job working Thurs, Fri night and Saturday.

(retail stores were closed on Sunday).

So, British history it was so that I could get in a noon to 9pm shift.

When you're supporting yourself (and I have been since age 15) that was paramount.

But I did do very well... just it was so long ago.

That's interesting.I always thought that places like Quebec, would have had a lot more interest in French history than British?.

The Quebecois only wish they were French. I'm not Quebecois, I'm a Quebecer. (yes... there is a difference. Do you know what that may be?)

almost.. The Quebecois are those Quebecers wishing to separate the province from the country.

Not all french speaking residents of Quebec want that.

here's what you do. when you walk in your front door, install a key hanger. get into the habit of hanging there all the time. That way ... you won't need to remember.

We have too much to remember everyday... We have more daily input of info in one day then our ancestors had in one year.

And it's not mad cow. It's CRAFT. (Can't Remember a Fu king Thing)

no one can ever be as regal as Elizabeth. She wears the crown well.

Correct Greenchick it was indeed.

Interesting pub quiz answer...

H.M Queen is the only member of the royal family to have a title established through Australian law; other members are accorded a courtesy title. Wink
