I got a rather curious email from a long time user who wished to be removed from this site and they stated two reasons:
1. That people were bullying them on this site and
2. That there was a limit to the number of posts a person could make.
I will NOT tolerate any bullying on this site. If I find that one of you has been bullying other people - YOU WILL BE GONE FOR GOOD!! I don't care if you were the first person to join this site; you will be banned.
Let me remind all of you that this board was created as a safe haven for Bill's fans to post about whatever they wanted. Certainly people are going to disagree with each other on occasion but that does not preclude them from bullying others into silence (or worst, leaving.)
Also, who in their right mind would ever tell someone that they need to limit their postings? This is a message board - it's meant to be filled with posts.
As long as the posts are filled with content, conjecture or opinion; they are fine. The only rules about posting is that you cannot attack a person nor can you make a post to send a thread to the top of the board just to keep it on the front page. If I find you have attacked someone you will be dealt with. If I find you are boosting threads to the top of the page just to keep them on the front page; I will lock the thread or delete it.
Now have a nice day.

| Hmm.... coincidental as I made a friendly suggestion as considering consolidating the many number of posts for a individual since the forum seem clutter with subjects that could be used in a single thread like my past The Shatner Files, and Trrex Sir Shatner thread. Was what I said "bullying"?
Paul, if this issue was directed at me then I'm at a disadvantage as it seems the complainant seemed more aggressive and defensive in a immature way (IMO). If this issue has nothing to do with me then carry on.
~Doc |

One never knows what may set someone off. We may even get a muffin thrown at us. (Boston Legal episode with Christian Clemenson as Jerry).

| Whoever you are, don't give in to bullying if that's what you feel is happening. Paul makes the rules, no-one else, and unless you do something to incur his wrath carry on posting. |

I like this part! It makes me feel a little better about being cuckoo, cuz I feel like I'm not the only one. We're all a little bit crazy, posting things like a bunch of nuts! |

Astonishingly, I'm agreeing with J_T here. Posting on this site is a lighthearted stress buster for me personally. Yes, some threads are serious topics but a lot of them are just meant to be a diversion or escape from whatever else is happening in our lives.
People can choose to read them, or not. I wish I could read all the posts but I do have my favourites (like the two word thread) which I contribute to daily if I can. Daisy's pics are another of my favourite and of course, anything discussing WS or Trek.
As for bullying, well, I've read a few meanspirited posts and I'm sure I've not been politically correct on occasion myself (see Palin). However and usually, never directed at a fellow boardmember.
When aread a mean spirited post directed at another boardmember, it says more about the poster than the reader and should be ignored.
Afterall, I've been around here since 02 and I've seen my share of nasty posts. Paul makes the call and usually the right one (except for once...)

You have to admit it, I'm usually wrong! Especially when it comes to serious topics. But I'm glad you agree with me about TV Land. Didn't know you got that channel in Canada. No hockey on TV Land! Figures.
Oh yeah, about Palin...why didn't anybody else mention the little moon-faced kid?? I'm a big fan of Palin, both Michael and Sahara Desert, but no one joined me in getting fed up with seeing that little moon-faced kid, mugging it up for the cameras. Man, what a camera hog, that little moon-faced kid! I thought if there are any people out there who didn't like Palin, they'd be on my side when it comes to dealing with that little moon-faced kid, waving and smiling like she's the queen of England!! |

| Well, since mention was made about someone harassing someone else about how many posts they make in a day, the bullying could've taken place via e-mail or other private ways and not on the board itself. |

OR...they could arrange to meet in person and have a fist fight! That's the only practical way to resolve problems...at least for adults. I don't recommend that kids fight..unless they have guns or knives to back up their opinions. |

You shined the light on TV Land for all of us. For that, I'm eternally grateful.
Morgram, did you ever get those Dennis the Menace shows downloaded? I still have those DVD's if you ever want a copy. I have this super duper DVD "Writemaster" that can burn 20 billion DVD's at a time in under 2.6 nanoseconds. |

I wonder who this can be....
It would seem whom ever it is thinks of themselves as a "Hall Monitor."
I have to admit I have bumped threads to the top...some are mine and others belong to someone else....
...but I am sure I have never "bullied" anyone....
Sounds like an AIM chat....
Mystified, I am?

Well, Paul,
Why bother asking to be "removed". Just stop coming. It's not like the site generates junkmail and what not.

Um, I think you both misread me. What I was saying is someone here could've been e-mailing the person in question and bullying them off the site about things done on the site. It wouldn't be the first time a control freak got all nutsy and started e-mailing someone saying "You can't do that." I have that problem with a chick on another board who follows me to other sites and blogs and will harass me because I refuse to accept her uber feminist ways. |

Well, if she follows you here, we will nail her and bombard her with tribbles until she screams. |

Perhaps Bill could do a special segment on Raw Nerve about some of the wacky, but fun posters who come here. |

I think who ever is being bullied here should come clean to Paul . Let him know the trouble maker.
Save it happening again, after all this forum is viewed by many more outlets than in the past.
And when there is suspicion like this we don't know where we stand.
We all loose the trust of our fellow Posters.
