Yes, indeed we will. The age of the White-good-ole-boys reign is slowly coming to an end.

It is time to bring this world together under one race -- the race of Human.

I have spent all day on the edge of tears, how it must feel to be an American, I can only imagine!
From now on the world's talent pool seems so much deeper!
I look at my kids who have friends of all religions and none and who genuinely don't seem to notice the hue of their skin and I think they are finally represented in at least one of the great powers.

To all the Negative thinkers...IF YOU CONTINUE to program your brain for only Negative...that is what you will receive....

I say this because I have been guilty of doing just that.....

Look to your STATE Govt. to try to correct the Unemployment situation...get INVOLVED...find out how YOU can make a difference...

I fought the "good Ol' Boys" club and LOST in a court case that should have gone my way. I had all the evidence and I watched, as did the rest of the court,my opposition perjure themselves...it made no difference. THIS made me very sad and completely negative about where our Country is going... I CHOOSE to let it go and TRUST that Karma WILL come to them....and I will LIVE MY LIFE being more Positive and trying to make an Impact of Good Will within my daily Life.

THIS is what CHANGE is about....

I stayed up rather late, and was very nervous because of the things I know about Palin and the form of "Christianity" she is part of. Hearing that Obama won caused such a sense of relief that I was able to fall asleep rather fast and slept fairly well (not the norm because of pain)! I really didn't realize until last night just how stressed I was by this election.

I rather imagine that the people I met in Sicily are all rejoicing! They liked Obama, and were tired of decades of neoliberalism and the ugly American. As for me, I am tickled that we've elected the first African-American to the presidency- in a sense it's a shattering of the glass ceiling and a real sign that this country is finally starting to mature and change. I also like what I've seen of him and what he's advocated.

Your hate of Obama is bordering on the obsessive. You are so anti-American!!!! Wink

I love the way the world has changed... No longer am I the one going to be charged with being anti-American, because of my displeasure with a president. This is hilarious. Loving watching those on the losing side sqirming with all the vitriol I was criticised for having against Bush... Oh, sweet irony!!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

I think that there's a point being missed here. Much fuss has been made about the US electing it's first black president. Jess asked me this morning how many black leaders Europe had. She obviously already knew the answer but it's an interesting question.

Even here in Britain I think we are years away from having a black PM, I mean, he or she isn't even allowed to be a Catholic!

Name one country in Europe that would have a black leader - not easy is it? Germany or Austria? Never. Spain or Italy? Still make monkey sounds at black sportsmen. France or Holland? More likely than some others but still years away. And as for the former Soviet Union countries....

So whilst we should celebrate America's progressive stance we should remind ourselves that they are way ahead of the rest of the world in this regard.

Not sure myself wether it's a good or a bad thing, but as with everything ELSE in life...TIME WILL TELL .

Well, I think progressive is when we can finally look passed race, sex, religion etc. And I hope President-Elect Barack Obama remains committed to bringing people together, I think that is what's most important because it's not so much him as all of us that have to make the US and the World a better place. And I truly hope that he tries his best to be a President for ALL the people, which we've heard before but maybe this time one politician will mean it. I'm also hopeful that he will be a well respected President maybe the most I've seen in my lifetime, but we will see. I really haven't been crazy about the last two .... so I'm really not too tough to please at this point.

Now Gorny! I never said anything about lizards. Very Happy

Perhaps I should have said, "the age of men" instead. Leave it to us women to clean up the mess.

How's that for sterotypical! Laughing Wink Arrow
