HOKUTO CITY, Japan, Oct. 28 -- A married man allegedly set fire to a Hokuto City, Japan, hotel as an excuse to get out of a wedding he had planned to another woman, police said.
Tatsuhiko Kawata, 39, allegedly spread oil on the floor of a hallway at the hotel and ignited the flames at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Japan Today reported.
Kawata, who is married, had scheduled his wedding to another woman for Sunday afternoon at the hotel.

Well, that is just absolutely crazy. I mean sure, he probably just planned all this to get the wedding cake, and I can understand that. But did he even remember to save the cake first? You just have to wonder about some people.....  |

Maybe a better way would have been at the wedding turn to everyone and say

That's about as bad as the woman who set fire to her office desk because she hadn't finished all of her paper work and was afraid of getting fired. Now, she is not only fired, but will spend time in jail.
