As it's my birthday tomorrow (6th Oct),i thought i'd hold a special dvd prize competition.

Anyone can enter,

The prize will be.....

3 Classic Horrors Of The Silver Screen On DVD - Vol. 1 - Horror Hotel / The Terror / The Corpse Vanishes

Image

Horror Hotel: This hotel is the gateway to hell!

Young college student Nan Barlow uses her winter vacation to research a paper on witchcraft in New England after her professor ( Christopher Lee) recommends a place for her to visit. She sets off for a small village with a history of black magic. When she arrives she notices some weird happenings but things begin to happen in earnest when she finds herself "marked" for sacrifice by the undead coven of witches!

The Terror: A lieutentant in Napoleon's army (a young Jack Nicholson) traces a mysterious woman to a castle on the Baltic coast and finds himself trapped by a mad baron (Boris Karloff). This highly enjoyable, atmopsheric slice of low-budget horror from the great Roger Corman was also reportedly directed at points by future talents Francis Coppola and Peter Bogdanovich.

The Corpse Vanishes: Bela Lugosi plays a botanist who sends orchids to blushing brides on their wedding days. But, they are not around to enjoy the reception as Bela kidnaps them to use their glandular fluids to rejuvinate his wife...

rules are easy ....

all you have to do is e-mail me the answer to the following question,Please do not post your answers here

Q.What is the correct name of the "Horror Hotel", in the movie of the same name..?

Closing date for the competition is wed 8th October

I've been catching some horror movies on Chiller TV almost every other day.
Their current schedule, for me, is best on the evening of the 30th and all day the 31st. Some really great classics are showing.

BOO to one and all.

I'm watching this movie right now Laughing

Boris Karloff in this movie, was 80 years old, at the time and looked really frail.I don't think this was really one of his best films.

I wonder if Christopher Lee was right ,after he gave up playing Dracula, in the 1970's. Saying that it's a mistake to bring "gothic" horror stories , and gothic horror actors in to the modern day.?

I believe the classics cannot and should not be "updated". They belong to another time and era and are to be appreciated in and for what they represent.
Modern day horror is cgi or worse and gore cannot make up for talent and simple story lines well executed.

..............thus endeth the epistle of the day.......... Wink
