I've just realised that I'm on the home straight for 4000 posts. I'd like some suggestions for the subject matter for post 4000.
Suggestions on a postcard, or just here, whatever is easiest. |

Actually my ride is a Fireblade,although mines not a 2008 one like this thats in the top picture.Although They have dropped the fireblade name, and just call it a CBR 1000. 
Mines one of the first Fireblades from 1992/1993 954cc ( the origional and best) The newer ones are too computerised for me, too much technology doing everything for you.On the older bikes, you are more able to change and tweak things.No digital this and that or computer controlled thingies, just old fashioned dials, buttons and switches, and the rider can change anything,absolute bliss
I even still use Pirelli tyres where as the new bikes use ( really awful) Bridgestones |

So you ride Japanese and I ride British.....something ain't right here. 
The CBR just wasn't comfortable to me. Looks great , I just couldn't see going for the long haul on that.
I agree about the tires. Bridgestone's bike tires are crap.
They're too hard, have no grip, slide too much. |

Not many truly British bikes left, Royal Enfield are made in India.Norton/BSA have all but vanished.The 'new ' Triumph looks like the old 1970's bike, ( lets just hope it's more reliable than they were back then).I'd love to be able to buy British if i could trust it not to leak oil, or break down, or not start in the cold/wet or have loads of faults with it  |

I can understand them doing a special 50th version, but harking back to the 1970's..?.One of the worst times, in British Manufacturing history, when nothing worked properly..?.Like i said, i hope the "new one" will be better than the origional,and the 70's "styling" is not the kiss of death,Or else they will spend more time leaking oil and in bits on the garage floor, than it will on the road. |
