Sorry Gorny. I missed the debate because I had an opportunity to work and took it. |

Palin Proved me wrong! She was down to earth on the issues the American people are facing!

You took time off to work during a VP debate?

I just watched some of the debate on youtube. I think you either like that pseudo-folksy, wink wink, "I was at a soccer match the other day" sort of whimsy or it makes you want to lose your breakfast. Guess which category I fall into! I really had to stop watching.
I have noticed this about US politics. It seems very important that whoever runs for President or VP should be just like the voters, someone they could have a beer with. I don't care about that. I want someone so incredibly smart he can master the job and come up with the right solutions. People like that do not always have the common touch but I see the brains as more important. Republicans particularly often seem to be proud of their intellectual mediocrity. Look at Bush boasting about being a C student and McCain bragging about graduating fifth from bottom. Maybe it's a cultural thing. I can't think of any other country where that would be an asset rather than an automatic disqualification for office. |

"I want someone so incredibly smart he can master the job and come up with the right solutions." You mean "he or she" can master the job...

Strickly speaking, she screwed up. She should have said "little league baseball game"
Nobody here gives a damn about soccer |

You got that right, Morgram!
First of all, there were some conservatives crying about the moderator. I watch a lot of PBS and I always liked that lady. I mean, did anyone expect a television moderator other than a liberal? She did a great job moderating and I knew she would. The best moderator I've seen in years!!
Palin mopped the floor with Biden. No doubt! That's why her detractors were fenced in to commenting about her winks. They had nothing of substance to prove that she DIDN'T win.
Every time Reagan Palin slammed a checkmate on Biden, he smiled like a Cheshire cat. I thought that was funny. Biden stumbled several times, and said, "Obama" instead of Mccain at one point. Not a big deal though. He did O.K. but Palin was obviously the victor. Hands down. He even agreeed with Palin on two major points. Energy and gay marriage. The last subject didn't even deserve any air time, considering there are far more important issues. It's just a matter of semantics. Give people civil unions with all the benefits and it's a non-issue.
Oh, and the little moon-faced kid of Palin's was back! Never thought she'd sneak into the debates, but she's such a camera hog!! Then, I think it was Biden's wife who went up to the little moon-faced kid of Palin's and put both hands around her head, kind of caressing it with a motherly touch. Man, the way her hands had to orbit that round little moonface. It took her ten minutes to go around the entire circumference! Then, the little moon-faced kid took the baby and he's too heavy for her. She was shifting him around cuz she's too small to carry the baby. And that baby should be in bed by 10:30 at night. Where was that debate? Was it on the east coast?
Liberals, if you want to blast Palin, I suggest making fun of that little moon-faced kid of hers. That head has it's own atmosphere, it's so big and round!! |

I wasn't able to watch the VP debate in its entirety as I was also watching the Canadian leaders debate which aired simultaneously ... but my impressions of Biden and Palin haven't changed one iota.
Although I thought Palin did redeem her image somewhat.
(forever will I have Tina Fey's impression of her stuck in my head when I see Palin.)
On the Canadian side, I was most impressed with Dion and May.
Harper comes off as a robotic and he has this tendency to smirk which makes me throw my slippers at the TV. |
