V Australia the airline I am flying to the US on has had to delay the launch of services to the US due to the ongoing strike by Boeing workers. The delivery of their new 777 Aircraft has lead to the delay.

V Australia will try and get us on an alternative alight with another Airline at their cost but this is not assured.

I really hate this I could lose $24,000 if I cant get a flight.

Thanks Boeing workers

V Australia should buy Airbus instead

Strike at Boeing has forced Arnprior Aerospace near Ottawa to lay off staff. No planes - no need for parts. N

I spoke to Virgin this morning and they tell me they are transfering people to other airlines, mostly Qantas and United, I would prefer Qantas they have much better aircraft. I told them we are quite happy to be seated in Business Class if there are not other economy class seats left.

They will get back to me over the next few days

Must be costing them a fortune, the flight I booked was $1000 per ticket beign a opening ofe for the first 1000 seats sold and the replacement flights are $3500 each minimum and we have three seats booked.

If you're stuck, don't forget Cathay Pacific. My brother travels to Asia a lot and loves the airline. Good luck. Very Happy N

The 24,000 is the cost of the holiday I am planning, it includes accommodation, car hire, internal flights from LAX to SFO, SFO to NY, NY to LAS and LAS to LAX plus side trips to the Canyon and tours. Most of this I prepaid whan our dollar was nearly even with the US one.

Problem is getting there but it looks like V Australia (a new Virgin Airline)m is doing the right thing.

Whenever I read the word, "Boeing", I'm reminded of the 1965 movie, "Boeing Boeing" with Jerry Lewis and Tony Curtis! Here's a clip:

Well Done Virgin Airlines!! to give you tickets costing 3 x what you paid is a wonderful testament to the fact they stick by their customers.

Qantas no less , It is the only way to fly:)

I fly Qantas every two to three weeks these days on buisiness and they are an excellent airline no doubt. Virgin in Australia is also very good and their crew consistently come over very friendly and professional. We are lucky here to have such good airlines but it is also due to the very high regulation in the Industry here.

Here is poor V Australias problem, the 777 wth the Southern Cross stars on the tail is one of their three new aircraft just sitting at Boeing waiting fr the strike to end
