PETA is actually responsible for MORE animal deaths then any animal shelter or butcher out there. Anyone who supports them needs to look up Penn & Teller's PETA episode of Bullsh*t.

They are hypocrites - notice how many of them wear leather shoes. Anything they say needs to be completely ignored.

If they switch the moo juice to mom juice, then my taste buds will be gratefully dead to Cherry Garcia from now on. Ick, Ick, Ick! I WON'T be trying it! Seems too....personal to me. Ick!

The difference is... the dairy industry is regulated. (mad cow?) or other bovine diseases are subject to checks and control.

I'd love to see the title of that government department...

I'm not sure what to think about that, but I do know there are risks to human milk aswell.
Medication shows up in breast milk.
As do pesticides .
As far as allergie's go,my son had an allergy towards breastmilk and had to be given a special formula so it's not always the best way to go.

That's really interesting, Pippa. Breast milk is made up of proteins as is any milk, and I wonder if the allergy isn't more common than we know, although I'd never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing that.

My son had such a strong allergy towards dairy, I couldn't consume any dairy while nursing him, not even a bit of butter on toast. Luckily, he outgrew the allergy as he got older.

It's an allergy more common than is known Cat...
He broke out in a rash and had severe diarrhoea which stopped nearly right away when I stopped breastfeeding.
Doctors told me the fat content and protein was to rich for him so he had to be given a what we call souer milk dieet....

Question

a sour milk diet?

What on earth is that?

I know my nephew who is 15 months old, is having digestive problems and has to be on a special diet right now and he couldn't breast feed as the breast milk was too fatty for him and made him ill. He is going to see a specialist on nov. 20th and have an endoscopy as he is only gaining a few ounces a month on his food...

Ah..it sounds like he has the same problem Pat had Exclamation
A sour milk dieet is based on the part of the milk that is left after you made butter...we call it WEI, but i'm not sure how it's called in The States.
It stil has al the vitamins, but has nearly no fat.

We call it milk whey and I've seen it, it's really thin. I've made homemade butter myself and it's a lot better than margerine!!!!

I know they use it in a lot of cottage cheeses and other products but most of them would be too rich for him to eat...

We are hoping the endoscopy will show something. They want to see if there is a mal-absorption problem or if the intestines are having a problem with celiac disease....
