I grew up with JFK and LBJ, with Elvis and the Beatles,
with Star Trek TOS...
I remember the older ones saying things like..
He makes me tired just watching him play
Honestly, I have had to catch and stop myself from saying the exact same thing, simply because I didn't think very much of the old geezers who
said it about me.
Surfing the net I see people who think Star Trek is Janeway and Tuvok
with no mention of Kirk, Spock or Bones.
I refuse to become this "get off my lawn" curmudgeon, so help me out.

As a fellow boomer, I would have to admit that I don't listen to the radio too much, so don't know half of the performers out there now. I don't watch too much TV anymore, so don't know half of these younger actors.
It's ok Gorny. Just think. We lived through the Hippy days ..... Laugh-in..... Dick Clark's American Bandstand..... Captain Kangaroo....... and we have the benefit of having seen ALL of the Trek series.
How else could we stay sane after living through the Vietnam war being played out in our living rooms night after night on the news, JFK, Bobby, and King's assassinations, and don't forget the Apollo 1 crew, Gus Grissom, Edward White II and Roger Chaffee, who were killed in a training accident.
Of course there were also those historic moments: John Glenn's history space flight around the earth and back, the first ever color TV broadcast, the first broadcast using satelite.
At least, we don't have to call ourselves "geezers," because we have the distint title of "Boomers." |

Gornman, I feel your pain. The other day I cursed a driver who squealed his tires around the corner.
Then I remembered how I scoffed at my aunt when my first crush used to do the same thing in his Corvette.
Essentially, at teenagers, we think the wisdom of older adults is just meant to ruin our fun when in reality it's about how much they love us and want to protect us from harm.
So the next time the kid squeals his tires, I'll just smile to myhself and think, "I remember when..."

And before Big Bird and his buddies, there was:
Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Have all my friends had fun at play?"
Were you a Do BEE? |

I wonder what ever happened to Trigger. I hope he got a good home in a nice big pasture to live out his days. I would hate to think that he got turned into glue and dog food the same way several famous race horses did. BTW, I am still very angry at Author Godfrey!
I know that Roy Roger's horse was stuffed when he died. |

THE LONE RANGER!!!!
Hi Yo Silver- away!!!!
I think i saw every black and white episode that Clayton made and the movies too and the color movies later.....I read the book that he wrote and it was very well done....
Silver was a very good horse and led a very good life after he was retired. I know Lorene Green and Michael Landon bought thier horses that they rode in "Bonanza" every day for 14 years to be sure they had a good home.

| It seems to me that there was one of the old timer western stars who wanted to have the horse he rode in a series, but Hollywood wouldn't let him have him. It may have been Hopalong Cassidy, but I would have to do some further research to find out. |
