I think hygene products are a big factor.
Seriously, its the fear of what is different. Thats it. Period. We dont have to live together, but we have a need to fear or attack what is different. If they are different from "us", then we must destroy them. Then once you mix in power and greed structures its all over. No one can escape. |

I am sort of laughing right now. There are records of pioneers referring to Indians as being rather smelly beings. It was actually true, but not because of what the pioneers were thinking. Depending on where the Natives lived they used either fish oil or bear grease as a natural bug repellent. As far as hygene goes, it was considered by most tribal nations to be a crime for anyone not to take a daily bath.
Too bad, they didn't have a "pioneer" repellent. Just kidding of course.  |
