The only people who look petty are those who want to erase all traces of TOS from star trek. Take the signature nonsense at the close of undiscovered country. Where did paramount ever get the idea that it was time or even a good idea to put the tos crew out to pasture? Certainly not from the fans and when Bill would not go warping quietly into the sunset they took him out...their way; and now Abrams wants people to believe that there is just no way to write Bill back into star trek. You want to know why Bill doesn`t let himself get too upset about all paramount`s cockinbull nonsense, britstarfan? I tell ya why. Because Bill knows that star trek is finished and that all the multi-million dollar cgi in the universe cannot resurrect it to health again given the kinds of mentalities at the helm at paramount. That is why. |

As i have said for months now, i get the feeling this movie is going to be 'make or break' for the future of Star Trek.
I think' Enterprise' proved that any old sci fi is not good enough, to be put under the Star Trek name, and when you mess about with an established canon, and upset the fans,it shows how easily the whole franchise could end with a whimper rather than a bang. As was proved with the abrupt and less than exciting, finale' of Enterprise.,I think the fans will certainly let Paramount know,via the box office when this new movie hits the screens.
Then again,Who knows we might all be totally wrong, and this movie could be brilliant, and could be the shot in the arm to bring Star Trek back to life,and if it does well and there are more maybe there might be room for Bill  |

| Yes, but the thing that is REALLY so unforgivable about what paramount has done is this; back in 1994 when Bill last appeared on screen as Kirk he looked pretty damn good for a guy in his mid-sixties and Bill probably could have starred in 2 or 3 or even 4 more trek movies and paramount JUST CHUCKED Bill`s few remaining good years away. I WILL NEVER pardon paramount for doing that. Never! |

| ...and I`ll tell ya something else. It will be A COLD DAY ON VULCAN before I go to the movies and reward paramount with any of my money for ruining Star Trek they way they have. I`ll tell ya that much! I`ll get it off the web a few weeks after it bombs anyway. I will be most pleased to have their mult-million dollar cgi imagery decorate my monitor. |
