Major spoiler coming up...!
Doctor Who will apparently come face to face with a future version of himself in this year's Christmas episode.According to The Sun, the Time Lord sees a damsel in distress, and as he goes to save her she is intercepted by another man - the Doctor from the future, played by David Morrissey.
"He steps forward to save her when this other man swings in, dashing, brilliant, amazing, clever, witty, saves the day," the show's creator Russell T Davies is quoted as saying. The two Time Lords then become companions for the duration of the festive episode.

Well a nice turn of events this is.
Oh, and IMO, Tom's smile and expressive eyes wouldn't do The Master justice. |

They've done episodes in the past where the Doctor works with his past selves. So there's no reason Tom or any other surviving Doctors couldn't pop in for a visit.
But I want to see the Doctor's granddaughter appear. I mean, he left her to be with the man she loved. What if she gave up her Time Lord powers, had a bunch of kids, and was now on the verge of dying of old age when he comes back and tries to convince her to become a TL again and regenerate? He could meet all his great & great-great grandchildren, perhaps even find out since they have a bit of TL DNA in them if he can get them into the TARDIS they'll become TLs too (therefore he could rebuild his people) - and takes at least one of them as a companion for awhile.
It would give him a lovely moral dilema. Does he trick them into becoming TLs just so he won't be alone anymore? Does he tell them the truth and let them each decide on their own? Or does he not say anything and face letting his people die out eventually? |
