I have to admit a "guilty pleasure" at rewatching a lot of these 1950s classic sci fi movies. CGI and computer graphics were many many years away when these little gems were made.
A lot of them have the ideal running time to ( usually about 1hr 10 mins), so they don't take up too much time to watch. They pack the story in, unlike the long winded over blown movies of today, and the quality of these older films rely on the acting, and story, not how good someone is with a computer.
I remember watching some of these movies, on BBC2 when i was a kid, back in the late 1970s,on a Saturday night, when i was allowed to stay up late .Sadly now they don't get shown often, perhaps the fact that they are in B/W,and not full of the latest special effects, puts a lot of the younger generation off.
I have also found
3 part B/W Quatermass series, from the BBC 1955.

And a very good British "horror" movie from 1973
The Legend of Hell House

I might post a couple of my favorites there, such as the classic "Fiend Without A face", and the origional Howard Hawks' "The Thing From Another World". |

| I`ve always thought Legend of Hell House to be a very superior horror movie; much, much better than Robert Wise`s overrated "The Haunting." I mean what the hell is so scary about a neurotic Julie Harris? |
