A few months back my daughter and I were shopping the DVD bargain bins at ROGERS (Canada's version of BlockBuster). Found a nice gem:The Day the Earth Caught Fire.
http://www.britmovie.co.uk/genres/ficti ... y/012.html
It's a doomsday picture told from the point of view of the lead character who writes for The London Daily Express. I believe the same director (Val Guest) did The Quatermass Xperiment.
It's a great ride. You have to strain a bit to catch some of the dialogue but the writing is fabulous. Nice transfer too considering the film probably hasn't seen the light of day since it's original run in 1961. N

I recently watched The Day The Earth Caught Fire on Veoh,

By co-incidence, i also watched another hidden gem of a movie with Edward Judd and Peter Cushing called, 'Island Of Terror' that also does not get shown much, nowadays.

I wonder whatever happened to Ed Judd, he was a rising star in British Sci Fi movies in the 1960's, But it seems he suddenly turned his back on it all. |

Any One seen "Sapphire and Steel" David McCallum and Joanna Lumley ,
A little know British Sci Fi series . It is the most unusual series you will ever see. it is more like watching a play on a stage. The actors are great though . here are some captures from My new David McCallum web pages. I may have to watch it again to understand it all:)
