I don't know if you guys know who Joan is but she was part of the group known as "The Committee" that organized the first Star Trek Convention in the 70's. She also credited as having created the foundation for slash stories with her analysis on Kirk and Spock's relationship in her Trek Book.
I just heard she passed away yesterday.

I didn't know her but am sad to hear of her passing. It seems like a whole Trek era is starting to fade out.  |

She was mentioned all the time in the stuff I was buying off the shelves back in the 70s. Didn`t she have something to do with The Star Trek Compendium? |

Without Bjo Trimble and Joan Winston, there wouldn't be anything Trek. Both of them advanced Trek fandom and kept it on air, when Paramount were ready to kill it off in the 60's !!
So we have a great deal to be thankful for both their hard work.
