In a recent interview you said that you wanted to keep within the Canon of Star Trek in the new movie.Even though Enterprise has screwed that pretty much up,well here's a thought, away to bring Kirk back, via an alternative ending to Generations.
After all " There are always possibilities"

| They ruined star trek. Let them salvage it if they can. Why the hell should William Shatner, the great actor they have wronged so greatly, help them save star trek? For the monumental folly of killing off his iconic character, they can take a flyin` warp! |

I don't know. Bill obviously signed off on "Generations" and read the script.
He knew they were going to kill him, twice
It was enjoyable watching him get to showcase his
horse skills not to mention treating Picard like a rookie....lol |

One more thing that bothered me in Generations...
Star Trek spent decades playing up the value of
that one man at the helm, the Captain. This concept was a large
part of what made Star Trek work.
In Generations we get this young, wet behind the ears
whipper snapper who had no place in the center seat.
Just another reason the franchise is going downhill |

| They extracated Bill from star trek because his character was too McCainish and republican-like. Paramount gave the shaft to the original fans and opted for the "future". A guy like Jim Kirk had no place in their Huxley-esque future. So in came the effeminate unisex-attired "men" and out went a larger than life man`s man like Kirk to be replaced by a surrender first-minded frog. Is it any wonder that star trek is now dead?...and paramount thinks they can replace the guts that THEY ripped out of star trek with cgi. |

Okay my thoughts...
I read the JJ interview on startrek.com and I am annoyed. I think they need life long trekkies or long time fans to write this movie. This is science fiction and not a drama. You can get away and do so much in sci-fi and to mention they cant use the Kirk role is ludicrous. I love the JJ line when they said Shatner has aged since Generations and that would be hard to explain. Oh please! Anybody catch the direct tv commercial?
The franchise went down when they burried my captain in a pile of rocks!
I think if Bill was to come back as Kirk and ride off with Spock together with a ending like they did with Scotty in TNG Relics episode it would be a good ending for Kirk.
Off the subject here, but Chris Pine looks nothing like Bill! Chris has blue eyes and a major square jaw. Going to be interesting how they change him up.
Thanks for reading gang! |
