Sky hazy, could be getting rain from Gustov in the next couple of days. Allergies a bother now.
We had an old dog that would do that. She'd take bites of her food and go into the frontroom and eat it. Back and forth she would go to that one special spot. Never could break her of the habit. Mom even tried to put a blanket down on that spot but she'd push it away. Sometimes she was bad about burying biscits in the couch cushions, too. Cool

Sure I can Steve Very Happy
He got the recipe from me Wink

Here it goes...
Take as many lamchops as you like, there's no limit since the marinade covers more then enough !!!

1 orange and 1 lemon or lime (whatever you prefer)
The zest of the orange.
half a table spoon of honey (your choice again)
1 table spoon of ketchup (sundried prefered)
1 table spoon of oil (again whatever you prefere just NOT to strong flavoured)
2 teaspoons of grounded sage
3 cloves of garlic (leave those if you have a date Wink )
1 teaspoon of hot chilli sause
1 table spoon of sweet soysause (kikkoman is ok )

Mix together and leave the chops in the marinade for at least one hour (over night is best)
Just before grilling wipe of excess marinade (it will burn if left on to much)
You can alway deb on more during grilling....
What I love to do is put some rosemary twigs on the hot coal and let the smoke infuse with the chops....

Hmmm.....yummy Razz

Thanks Pippa, you're the greatest!

Well, I thought the shopping was over, but once again I just got back home. The girls just had to go to Old Navy because they were having a sale today on t-shirts... Rolling Eyes
I did get some nice button downs for myself, but I've had to put my foot down, THE SHOPPPING IS OVER! I'm going to go broke with this crew. I mean, how many clothes can one person have?

Other than that, today is sort of boring. I think I'll finally hit the road and get some peace & quiet. See you guys later....

We've had the wettest Summer for 80 years and this weekend was no different. However it did clear up for a few hours yesterday and we went for another hill walk. The views were spectacular, almost 360 degrees. That is the amazing thing about Birmingham, the landscape is completely different if you travel 10 miles in any direction. 10 miles west and it's hilly and dramatic, 10 miles South and it's rolling, mild beauty, Shakespearean country, East it's flat and North it's foothills. We went West yesterday and once again this morning, I have to negotiate with my body before moving!!

Good Afternoon everyone!

Surprised to see this thread resurected from the dead, but happy it's back. Very Happy

Sorry about the weather you guys over in England have had this summer, Greenchick. Actually here, we've had less than the usual amount of rain, so maybe you'd like to send some of it our way, so I don't have to go out and water everything every night?

I do envy you your walks though. I remember years ago wandering around Ireland & Scotland and being amazed at how much open land and paths you have. Around here it's just urban sprall, nowhere to really walk unless your into sidewalks along the highway. There are a few state parks around, but you have to drive to get there, and that sort of defeats the entire purpose of saving gas and walking.

I just got in from work and have to get dinner have to get dinner together early tonight, as Bridget has an Explorers meeting at 6 and she can't be late. It's a group of kids that are interested in a career in law enforcement sponsored by our Sheriff's Department. Tonight is Bridget's first meeting. She's been waiting forever to be old enough to join.
So I have to get a move on.
Here's the link in case anyone's curious: http://www.mcsheriff.org/main/cp_explorers/

Talk to you guys soon, have a great evening.

Right now, I'm cracking the whip over my daughter to get her homework done. GROAN! I hate fighting her on this every year! Had a nice visit from my boy. He moved out this past summer and he's going into basics at Fort Sill on the 16th. He'll be studying artillery and meteorology, after 18wks at Fort Sill he'll be home for Christmas and then after a month he'll hopefully be shipping off to Germany. That's one of his picks for overseas. It's amazing how much his whole attitude has changed since leaving home and signing up. He's proud of himself and we of him. Smile Cool Cool But, then again, we've always been proud of our boy no matter what. Smile Cool
