My apartment just shook a little more than usual 5 minutes ago, knocking stuff off my TV. Just put on NHK (main Japanese network) for news, and it appears that a 6.8 earthquake has hit North-east Honshu.
I'm quite used to earthquake tremors, but this felt more sustained and enough to get me to open all my doors, just in case. |

Good heavens Harry! You be careful over there!
It may have just be Vito's stomach rattling too. He hasn't posted since mid July. Must be pretty stopped up..... or some interesting lady friend diverted his attention. |

THAT'S RIGHT!!! I just found out that the quake was started by workman laying out cables, straight from Alaska to Japan, for frigging TV Land broadcasts. Supposedly, they hit a fault line.... Triggered a 6.8 earthquake! |

There was a small one last night.
The Japanese are absolutely brilliant at dealing with earthquakes. In any other country, a 6.9 earthquake would have floored the region it hit, but while there was damage and injury it was minimal. |
