Just wanted to get an opinion on something before I buy it for my daughter. She wants a motorcycle to learn on, and to ride once she gets her license. Does this bike look too girlish?
She's a real tom-boy, and I think it's sort of retro-cool looking. It's going to be a surprise, but I'm not sure, what if she doesn't like it?. I mean, she can always have it custom done if she doesn't like the colors, but it's real reasonable. What do you guys think?
I just bought my Triumph, and it would be cool to have her ride along with me on her own bike.
Let me know, the auction ends Monday night.
Thanks,
CaptJTK |

Thanks for the reply Christina.
If it was my other daughter, she would want it pink with Hello Kitty on the tank..... |

the bike looks good on it's own...but if she wants to customize it would that be hard to do?

Nah, it wouldn't be hard at all. I have a mechanic friend that does custom work much like the guys at OCC, and he has the equipment. It's just the tank, fins and covers really. So what do you think?
Right now the auction is at 1600.00, but it's really a clean ride, talked to the guy last night. Think I should go for it?
If you want to see the details, it's E-Bay auction #190237064806.
Gotta run, I HAVE A DATE TONIGHT!
Be good,

If you feel that this is a good deal and it's a bike you can afford for them , then go for it.
$1600. isn't that bad and the bike looks brand new.
your thoughts on this should make your descison on it...I don't know what else to tell you.

Cool, glad you guys like it. The seller updated the listing yesterday, and has now put the windshield on, saddlebags and has thrown the cover into the auction. Here's the updated picture:
The auction is at $1,750.01, so it went up a little overnight. I'm going to wait until the end and I think I'll max around $2,300.00. Since it's here in Jersey, about 112 by mapquest, getting it here won't be a problem.
Now I really want to win this.
(I think I'll have to take it out every once in a while.)
Pray for a win! |

Well, yeah, bids are going to go up, that's for sure. Thing is, I was going to go to the dealership and buy a 2008 for $3,200.00. That's what is in the budget for this.
Problem is, since these little cycles get 78 MPG, there's not one bike left in inventory anywhere. We would have to wait until the 2009 models come out in October.
So I figure, if I was willing to spend the $3,200.00 on a new one that has none of the extras, why not go for this one? The only things that this bike doesn't have that I would want put on are the crash bar over the engine, and the sissy bar for the back of the seat. Both of these accessories are on e-bay for under $200.00. And the stuff that he has added to this one probably would cost me close to $800.00 to add to a new one.
I sure would like to save a thousand or so buying an older model. So, think I should bid maybe 2,600.00 in the last 5 minutes? That wouldn't give other bidders much time to catch up.
On E-Bay, it's all strategy and calculation.
E-bay, an ex-gamblers addiction.......
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

I always make my final bid in the last 20 seconds....5 minutes gives the other bidders to much time to make a new bid !
I KNOW for sure, cause that happend to me several times
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Steve |

Yup...it's the strike flash method...the ONLY way to win there....
I wouldn't go over your calculated bid, with all factors of Collectibility factored into it too...are the Parts easy to find?...for future fix ups? |
