He's been home since Saturday. Doing really good!!! Only 2 weeks in the nursing home for rehab!!!
Then today, he wakes up and can't even walk. His shin is in extreme pain. They took him to the hospital to check for a blood clot --- no blood clot. The doctor is baffled.
He goes in for a bone-scan tomorrow morning. The doctor suggested it could be that something let loose on his knee replacement (it's been about 15 years since he had it done). The other possibility is bone cancer. I don't even want to think about that, but it's hard not to.
I can't take much more of this stress!!!! I might have to run away and go live on a deserted island somewhere.... eeesh!!!!!
No horror stories please. I don't need to hear them..... Thanks...... |

Thanks everybody!!!
So, he had the bone scan done. His doctor was in there with him. Told him he will be able to read it today and call with the results. It's 3:30pm here, and nothing yet..... sigh.....
My mom told me he has one spot on his shin that swells up. The swelling goes down when he's wearing his compression hose (really tight socks for those that don't know). She's thinking possibly a fracture, and the doctor hinted that it might be that as well. Sounds bad, but it would actually be a kinda good thing. My thought is anything besides cancer would be a good thing!!!!
With a fracture, he would still be able to move that leg, but he does need to step down on that foot to maneuver himself around.
I swear!!!!! If it's not one thing, it's another!!!!!!
Anyway, he's in less pain today--but they do have him on pain meds now. I think he was in less pain even before he took the meds. That's a good sign!!!!
Well, we'll see. I'll let you know. Thanks again for all the prayers and good thoughts!!!!! |
